I was only talking in the sense that the 2 player's you mentioned (McGregor and Armstrong) are at ages where they clearly have scope to improve a lot, which we're seeing right now..

I'm not against the Hayes signing and he will do a job here but he isn't going to improve much, if at all..

I wouldn't say it was snobbyness at all. We CAN get better player's in with the feelgood factor around the club but I think most of us appreciate that Hayes would be a decent squad player to chip in with. It is funny you say that though as I could see very much Hayes being a main target under Ronny for the first team, whereas now we're talking about him being a backup/squad player at best..

No chance. I'm not excited about him at all, and tbh this time last year I'd have been even less enthused because we needed the improvement badly then. At this point I just see Hayes as an unneeded signing and have confidence we'll be bringing in much better.

The effectiveness/success of this signing will surprise many on here. Will be a star for us.

Yes , absolutely. Will line up on the left as it stands . If Roberts signs he will be back up and we will have remarkable strength in depth. He can also play on the other wing allowing Sinclair to go up top or central . Hayes offers pace, goals and assists, and is in his prime. Genuinely tipping him to be a massive success in a Celtic shirt.

No i said if Roberts signs Hayes will be on the bench and we will have serious strength in depth. Forrest will be third choice IF Paddy signs.

If this season is anything to go by though, we have seen Brendan develop two players over 30 incredibly well this season.

I didn't really realise just how important having a good coach was. Sort of thought that the talent would mostly take care of itself.

The improvement in the squad has been unbelievable

Pretty much how I see it. I'd much rather see Hayes get a game before Forrest.

He would be a great 'squad' player. Put it this way... will he ever let you down ? He always gives 100%, tracking back, pressing opponents and will chip in with goals and assists. He won't be signed with a view to being first choice in any position, but as a backup he is as reliable as they come.

Think the fee being mentioned is the biggest issue for people. But what's a million pound for a guy we could get 3-4 years from, that can play in a few positions.

He's a much harder working player compared to Forrest who if isn't in the mood just walks about shrugging his shoulders, but when he is in form is a better player than Hayes. Hayes on the other hand is consistent plus has a really good assist record.

That's just pish to be fair.

Anyone who's watched Forrest this season and doubts his work rate doesn't have a clue about football.

Forrest physical ability is tremendous for a winger, extremely fast over 2,5 or 100 yards and a great engine, every game this season he has put in a shift and he's very good technically, just not quite paddys level.

Paddy is a better footballer who can come up with moments of genius but we are very lucky to have forrest in my opinion

The thng is ,they will all play a part starting or coming on as br wants his attackng theat always at max ,and to do that he needs player's capable of comng on and offering a fresher potent attacking option.
If you look at hayes stats they are exactly wot our manager is looking for at a decent price , and in my opinion he has already gave br his answer, thats reason cardiff pulled out .
I still think we will see oneykuru here also ,he has spoken to a lot of clubs yeh ,but no one has come up with the deal agreed with us ,could come back to bite me though .

Are there actually people who think Hayes is better than Forrest? :giggle1:
