12-13 - Wasn't mediocre, but he didn't even manage 20 league games. A promising season disrupted by injuries.

13-14 - As I said I can't remember him being a standout player, will take your word for it.

14-15 - Fair enough, I meant more a decline from the team that Lenny had assembled at his peak as Celtic manager.

That season, in hindsight, was the realisation that we didn't have it in us to progress to the UCL proper. The next season wasn't the decline, it was the flat line, we had reached rock bottom. Perhaps that's the problem - looking back at that season with hindsight available.

He has to be. The way he's played and led this team through thick and thin, in personal terms and in terms of the team itself.

He jut captained our team to an invincible treble.

Really? Not even the likes of McStay and Tommy?

I genuinely don't understand how any Celtic supporter could say Scott Brown is not a club legend. Regardless of maybe some fluctuating levels of performance over his 10 years, he is the heart and soul of the team and without him we have very little mettle on the pitch. I mean I think that's been clear as day especially this season in games when he wasn't out there. I think his designation as a 'legend' has more to do with the intangibles of what he represents both to us as supporters and externally to people outwith Celtic. My friends here in the US who support Arsenal and Juventus have the general attitude that Broony is almost synonymous with Celtic itself. A true warrior for our club and someone I'm proud to have at the helm.

    Anyone who doesn't think he's a legend is a * idiot.

The season we just had, and the way he captained us. Yeah he is getting there, very * close to it. In fact I find it hard to come up with reasons not to call him a Legend.

    But I still voted no.

Just something in the back of my mind makes me want to see something else from him to class him in the bracket of a Legend for Celtic.
Burns is a legend. Jinky - all of the lisbons - is a legend. Larsson is a Legend.

Brown is getting very close to being spoken in the same breath as these guys, just want to see perhaps something extra special from him outside of longevity.
Go in to coaching (at Celtic) once he hangs his boots up with Celtic and probably will do the deal for me. And to be fair, that is as close to a certainty as we will ever see.

He certainly sits himself at the very top of the level below Legend.

I dunno man, I think I am just too scared to brand the word Legend around too easily.

Such a shame there isn't a clearer shot him there, with Jozo and some hun * blocking him.

I definitely regard those two as legends. I suppose I don't really associate them with the modern era though.

By modern era I'm probably talking McCann onwards, I know the Maestro and Tommy were around at this time but but I associate them more as players of the 1980s.

I can understand why people will regard Brown as a legend, in the way I understand why Lennon is regarded as a legend but for me the category is very narrow and I wouldn't have either of them in it.

Will answer that when he retires. Should give a player status as legend whilst he still plays. It kind of goes against the word Legend.

Lenny just as a player is in the level one below legend (with the likes of Lubo or Bonner), Lenny just as a coach is in the same bracket; Lenny at Celtic, both stints taken together (and add in what he had to face!) is a legend in my book.

He absolutely is, love the man and he's still at the top of his game. I have a feeling next year will be his best yet.

I think it's a very easy decision on this he is the 2nd most successful captain and led the team to an undefeated treble. I think if that doesn't gain legend status then there's something wrong.

I feel the criticism of browns performances is a bit over the top although he may not have been great every season people need to remember the team weren't playing well during most these periods of time and we always notice when Brown is not in the team (barring maybe his first season) which is more telling of what he brings as a captain and his influence

Think we had a poll on this earlier this season, or at least a decent discussion about it.

    100% yes.

I said it when 2 we discussed this earlier a few months ago.

He is undoubtedly a legend any one who says otherwise I will find and rip off your * and balls and and them for a nice stew.

I love Broony but he needs to lead us to at least something in Europe before he becomes an equal of Billy, Neil, or Henrik

Tbh I've never really thought the same of him after the 'my heart sank' comments.
