Keep it civil or ignore one another.

It sounds a ridiculous idea to me. It seems no less stupid than random ID checks if you walk past a school to make sure you arent on a * offenders list (to pick the first equally silly example I could think of).

It also brings up the rather uncomfortable issue of profiling. To choose people who are most likely going to be terror threats means picking on an entire demographic and leading to a breakdown in trust. Not to profile and just pick people in a genuinely random fashion makes the idea even more pointless from a public safety perspective.

I know it's a small point but what happens if someone has purchased engine parts for RC car, circuit board for gaming pc, a drone remote control or digital control for Hornby rail models. Lots of model shops etc in city centres and these things I've said do a fair bit of trade in second hand shops.

Well so long as your mate hasn't also just bought a box full of ball bearings, an old pocket watch and some second hand blue tac, we should be ok.

No just thinking back and having a smile about the 10 year old Muslim boy who brought a suspected bomb into his US School, police and FBI involvement. Turned out it was his science project and parents of the boy sued.

    * aye, almost forgot about that kid.
Wonder what he is doing now. Has he gone on to be on the path of some genius electrical engineer - or has he taken a holiday to Syria yet?
    I'll assume still at school.

No last I read was the parents were so outraged and felt victimised in the US that they were returning to the Middle East. Pushes the compensation money up, a top lawyer, great media coverage and that's called playing America at its own game.

I was searched at the recent modern homes thingmy, but they found nothing, so I was ok about it.
it meant the only nutcase in the arena with a weapon was me, and jihadi boab.

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
    The good old days.

I was only a wean in the 90s and I remember if you were out shopping in the town sometimes the alarm in the shopping centre would go off and there would be bedlam.

Some amount of looting too :giggle1:

Good old days indeed. My folks weren't rich but my da always had connections to make sure I had decent labels on for the fraction of the price. Oh the 80s.:50:
