How can people seriously doubt Brendan's judgement after all that he's done? If Brendan thinks he's good enough then that's enough for me.

He only going be back up. Can't see him replacing Sinclair or Roberts if he signs.
He might replace Forrest who form not always great

I'd be happy enough with the signing, but hoping we will make 2-3 real quality signings, with one eye on the CL.

Both those guy's are improving weekly and at a good age..

I do think Hayes will do a job here but can he improve much more than the good form he's already shown? I'm not sure..

If we are to sign Hayes I think it's fair to assume Paddy isn't coming. It is very unlikely that we will have 3 Right Wingers come September!

Not a negative on Hayes as Brendan clearly sees something in him and he is arguably the best player in the SPL not contracted to us. Just gutting as I think we all have the hope that Paddy will return :54:

If you've seen Hayes, you'll know that wherever he starts is irrelevant, he usually ends up in all 3 of the winger/forward attacking positions.

Can't help but think if Rodgers really wants Hayes he'd have signed by now.

I suspect its Ryan Christies part in the deal that's causing the hold up.

Can't see us changing our tactics to give him a free-role in our line-up
I've watched a lot of him and I know he is great with both feet but do you actually see him starting anywhere else but RW in our team?

I would love us to sign both him and Paddy but Brendan has stated multiple times that the squad is large enough as it is and only genuine quality will be brought in, therefore I just can't see us bringing in more squad players.

Thing is mate he isn't going to be starting most of the time anyway. He played a fair few games at LW last season and he doesn't look out of place. Depends how we wanted to use him, if he was wanting to cut in and crack shots at goal then right wing, if we wanted directness and delivery, then the left wing.

He gives you a couple of options.

The squad is large enough but it will be culled this summer, and GMS will be one of those who goes, leaving us with only 2 wingers (before Roberts or anyone else signs). That isn't anywhere near enough obviously.

Despite Rodgers wanting a smaller squad, we will still need 'squad' players, as such. If we get the number down to around 25, with the majority, like Hayes, being able to come in and do a job when called upon, it would be ideal. We are a club that plays across 4 competitions every season, year in year out, so we still need options outside of players you'd class as 'quality 1st teamers'.

Does he need to improve much more ? He's decent he way he is and imo aberdeens best player

There's just a snobbyness after last season everybody would have taken him pre Rodgers and been delighted
