The difference is, those players never relied on pace throughout their career, Hayes is a quick wee * and he uses it well.

    Aye..I wouldn't give them £1.2m.

Still think we will wangle a deal out of this.

Same mate, I think he'd rather play for us than Cardiff. * club.

I actually really want him, the difference having him to rely on for back up rather than GMS is massive.

Aye man, as I said in another thread (or maybe this one canny mind) if we get him and Roberts our wide options look brilliant, certainly for blowing away the Scottish competition again.

Roberts and Sinclair both capable in Europe too, as well as Forrest tbh if he fancies it. Hayes would be a wildcard but his record in European qualifiers for Aberdeen is decent.

We could definitely use his pace in the qualifiers imo.

Forrest as well, kinda forgotten man since Paddy came in to form later in the season. We'd be well set up.

They all bring something different to the table, thats the main thing for me.

Sinclair can do a bit of everything, take a man on directly or look to cut inside. Roberts, we all know what he is about. Forrest is direct and rapid. Hayes is a bit like a faster Commons, IMO, with an absolute thunderbastard of a strike, brilliant delivery too.

Aye defo mate, gives Brendan an option for every scenario.

Aye he's good technically, always thought he was worth a go. 7-8 year ago he's exactly the type of signing we went for.

To be honest, his age isn't really even entering my mind......well, not as a negative anyway.

At 29 (approaching 30) yer getting a guy who has been a stand out performer in the SPL for years now, a guy approaching his peak, and a guy who is still as rapid as Didier Agathe.

Could be more than a useful weapon when the time asks for it.

Look at how we've demolished teams in the last 30mins and further in games when their lack of fitness kicks in compared to ours - we smash * outta them when they're virtually on their knees, throw the road runner on and he'll rip their arses apart like a random black guy at a tory convention.

    TRANSFER NEWS
Sky sources- Celtic and Aberdeen remain in talks over the possible transfer of Jonny Hayes (1/3)

It was expected the deal would have been completed at the start of this week however a delay persists over Ryan Christie’s involvement (2/3)

Christie is set to join Aberdeen on a season-long loan but the terms are the stumbling block in Johnny Hayes' move Celtic (3/3). https://t.co/YlJcZ74LHp

Think he'd be good back up but if they keep playing hardball over Christie, and if Brendan sees something in him he wants to keep, then we should just * it off.

He's a good wee player at our level, but not worth being held to ransom over someone Rodgers must rate.

Deal breaker if they want Christie permanently..

I'd tell them to * off if they don't accept a loan only..

With McInnes off to Sunderland (pretty close apparently) maybe that's the reason there stalling a wee bit

I get the whole aim for better but I really think our fans opinions on this guy are shocking ... we have players like Armstrong McGregor etc all doing well and all of a sudden after a cracking year and getting players like Sinclair people are looking down on players that have clear ability to make it here and be a hit

And people go on about EPL arrogance

I'd rather keep Christie, I still think he can be a good player for us, has plenty of quality.

And hopefully we can get this one over the line.
