Said it before but I'd be more than happy with Sinclair and Paddy (or a signing of similar quality) as our wingers and Forrest and Hayes as back ups.
This is not a replacement for Paddy.

I wouldn't be against signing him if he were to replace GMS, would be a huge upgrade in that regard. * giving them Christie though.

Scott Allan. Cash, Dylan McGeouch permanently and Henderson on loan

We don't need a "replacement to GMS", a guy that barely sat in the bench and when he played was more because the manager was giving him a chance than he actually being needed. Furthermore GMS is younger and has a similar, if not better, curriculum before coming to Celtic. This is more pointless than the signing of Scott Allan

Not really. For quite some time now we've been fairly bloated in midfield, Scott Allan was always up against it from the off - and it turned out that he was and is nowhere near good enough for us.

Right now we have 3 wingers - one of whom is GMS and will definitely be sold or loaned out this summer, which leaves us with 2.

Hopefully we'll get Roberts back, if not we'll get another right winger to go straight into the first team. That'll be us back to 3 wingers. Hayes would be a good back up to Sinclair. And if we're being honest, Sinclair can be inconsistent. If we had a reliable, steady back up for him we could afford to rest him now and then when he's going through a rough spell.

Hayes would be a far better squad player and addition to the club than Allan ever was.

We will need a replacement for him.

If he goes we will have 2 wingers left. We need another two to come in this summer. Minimum.

He's done well enough at Aberdeen to earn a chance at a bigger club, if that club is us I'd be happy to see how it works out, if it's elsewhere where as an Ireland supporter I'd be delighted to see him succeed.

He's been looked over too much in regards to international football.

Promote Calvin Miller up in the first team and buy a winger that would take the place at right wing. No Hayes needed.

i agree with you on that, but unfortunately most players outside of scotland are unlikely to look upon it the same way

Reportly 2M for Hayes? Let's not get silly if that's what Aberdeen want then no.

Johnny hayes ain't gonna trouble anyone in the champions league and we have plenty of youth players to back up the first team .when someone like commons can't get a game where and the long list of players everyone seems to want rid of who in my opinion are better than Hayes I just can't see the logic in a move for him

Work rate (in terms of tracking back, holding a marker and up and down the wing) and speed.

Something we never had with Commons.

He ain't gonna work any harder than anyone else in our first team this year ,admirable traits certainly but it has become a minimum requirement

We don't know if he will or not. I've seen Barry Robson, Stephen Pearson, Scott McDonald and players of that ilk making an impact in the Champions League. They were all similar to Johnny Hayes in being good SPFL players

If this is true the only question is do you trust Brendan Rodgers judgement.

I think he could depends if he listens to the manager which I think he would as he's worked with him before and obv respects him, His end product tends to be good, his tracking back is good. That's the pros...

The cons are he's been an SPFL player with no real pressure on him when the times get tough. Untried.

The other is his age & he's not a guaranteed or ur money back starter to get into the team in CL level.

I would sign him but only if the deal is value for money.

That's just taking the *, he's a decent player but no way can I see us paying 2mill for a 30yr old who would probably just be backup to the first team if I'm honest.

A bit of experience if injuries occur during important games ,it's a no brainer tbh .

This would be the first thing that would leave Brendan open to criticism from me or anyone else. Good player but makes no sense at all. Hopefully the media is just putting two and two together with the way Brendan always approaches Hayes to speak to him after games. He obviously likes the guy, whether he would sign him or not is another story.
