Not for me. We need top-quality who can make a difference in Europe not more squad players.

You need a squad for both Europe and domestic football and Hayes is an improvement on gms and probably an equal to Forrest imo

i don't know why people are looking at hayes as being our replacement for paddy, he's clearly being brought in to cover the left side when sinclair needs a rest and gms just isn't up to it.

im pretty certain we will see gms leave (among others), with 2 wingers coming in - one for each side. the left side needs someone who can provide decent league/cup cover for sinclair, the right side needs an upgrade on forrest, hopefully paddy but probably someone else whose name we haven't even seen linked with us yet

people wanting us to have sinclair, paddy, forrest and another "european-level" winger are maybe overlooking the fact that having 3 top class wingers means it will be extremely difficult to keep all 3 happy when realistically there are only going to be a minimum of 6 glamour ties for them to share between them. having two top level wingers and two solid league level backups makes that a lot easier.

i think people are also discounting the impact that hayes could have in certain situations. if we are struggling to breakdown a team in europe, his tenacity, pace and energy could prove useful if he is brought on in the later stage of a match to create some space

Our squad is already good enough for Scotland. You admit yourself he's no better than Forrest. Why pay good money when he's no better than what's here already?

he is better than GMS, at end of the day what will be will be, need to make sure we dominate Scotland before we think about anything else but an improvement in Europe would be great

I think its important to remember that Sinclair played something like 50 games this season. Im sure Rodgers would like to maybe shave 5 or 6 games off that and not diminish the team. Then cover for injuries he may pick up and maybe extra European games. Hayes would do that plus offer good competition for Forrest on the right. Another winger who can play either side would be great. 4 good wingers would be perfect.

That's ridiculous. Young player of the year for the sheep who we paid 500 grand for from a team he was killing it for already in the top flight. Yet they want us to pay them money for a 30 year old they were gonna reluctantly let go to Cardiff in January for under a mill if they stumped it up..

    Aye right :56:

Christie and cash?? I'd give them a tin of paint to paint those faded seats.

    And they can keep Hayes.

    And we can keep Christie.

    Deal.

The timing isn't great for him either, as we're all in pain about losing Paddy..

I'm in two minds about Hayes, is he going to make an impact in Europe? Unlkley.. is he going to be a decent squad player on the domestic front, yes.

I trust BR in this one..

If we sign Hayes I will melt my season ticket. Not Celtic class.

We don't need a squad player though for domestic football, Christie can play on the wing, got Forrest there and the youngsters as well.
