On Shinnie I haven't read back but does anyone think the ref was right Friday? Of course I've seen them given and Gordon was a bit sprint happy but Shinnie I've seen do that plenty of time's. He conned the ref at Pittodrie a few year ago by the byline putting the ball out of play and got a penalty. He did it again Friday throwing himself in to the challenge with a nice wee spin after booting it miles out the park. Sure he was the one that got Gordon sent off for Caley as well was he not at Hampden? Be interested to know how many pens he's won against us..

When on form, Broony tends to really toy with that Sheep midfield and they get nowhere near him..

Can't believe we are going for a treble really * exciting this. To think it has been 16 years since we last secured the treble is mental! I'm very quietly confident for this, hope the players are fired right up for it I'm sure Brendan will have them focused mind you.

Mon Celtic, the wait for this game is agonising.

Not a penalty for me. Ball was flying into row Z of the beach end. The collision had no impact on the outcome of a by-kick to us. Had he knocked the ball wide and could have retrieved it, fair enough award the penalty.

In saying that, if Gordon had gone in maliciously, regardless of where the ball went, I'd say penalty. But he was trying to get the ball.

That's fine mate. That's the thing as I say, I've seen them given plenty but he kicks it to * deliberately out the pitch just so he can make contact. He's form, 3 or 4 time's against us now in 2/3 year..

If you look at Madden against us and Griff baring down on goal, last man etc then no one can deny that's a stonewaller. Shinnie isn't baring down on goal and kicks it out, miles away from goal..

Dunno. Just think he's trying to con the ref. I'd rather pens weren't cheaply given like that across the board. Gordon needs to sort that out though, running out of goal and not getting the ball..

Don't think it matters where the ball ended up, Shinnie got to the ball before Gordon and then Gordon bundled into him, don't think we could have had too many complaints if it was given. BR said as much post match..

Don't doubt Shinnie was looking for it tho, it was just rash by Gordon..

Yeah I get that to a certain extent. I wouldn't have totally begrudged them the penalty. I watched the game on mute so didn't catch any of the chat from anyone at the time.

Although got PLENTY views of the replay :s:

I think they'd have been lucky to get a penalty for the Shinnie/Gordon thing, as Shinnie is the one who ran into Gordon, Gordon is moving the opposite direction and isn't attempting to challenge Shinnie or block him and as mentioned he just booted the ball out the park so nothing was going to happen anyway.

I think they'd have got a penalty either if Gordon was coming towards Shinnie or if Shinnie only tapped the ball before running into him. But because it was Shinnie barging into Gordon and he kicked the ball away then the Ref probably thought it was a nothing situation.

I look at it from a Celtic perspective. If that was Griffiths running through the other end I'd want a pen.Screaming for one in fact.

I know where people are coming from, definitely wasn't intentional but the fact is there is substantial contact and he's been wiped.

It's * incredible that Aberdeen are getting more tickets for this match than we are. Aberdeen season ticket holders can now get two tickets each while many Celtic season ticket holders will miss out. Ridiculous situation.

It's really Shinnie who makes contact with Gordon though, 9 times out of 10 in football whoever initiates contact is the person who is doing the fouling. In this case it's Shinnie, the only time when the person who does makes the contact usually gets the foul is if they are trying to go past someone who deliberatly blocks them or barges them by blocking their path but Gordon never done that.

If it happened against us I wouldn't be bothered, you do see them given but you also can't complain since you were never going to score anyway and it wasn't really a foul either.

Penalty for me. He's been wiped out, in the box, Gordon has went to punch, missed , intentional or not.

Green tinted specs on here but it's not a pen for me, fair enough Shinnie gets there first but he just horses it into the stand, hardly a goalscoring opportunity.

Would still be a pen....Just not a red card.

But for me at first it was a pen. But seen it back plenty and thought the lad kicked Gordon more than the ball. No pen for me

I think Beaton deserves it but probably Collum or Thompson would be my guess
