With Man Utd winning the Europa League, and if UEFA shows a little bit of dignity and respect to its own rules by banning Red Bull Leipzig since a company can't own two teams in the same competition, would we still be pot 3?

    1. Pot 3 is far from a certainty under any circumstance. Please understand this.
    2. Since ManU probably will not qualify for CL via PL position, ManU winning Europa League will be a bad thing (since then they will be added to CL and their CC is higher than ours).
    3. If RB is forced to withdraw a team, they will certainly withdraw Salzburg rather than Leipzig - and as Salzburg have lower CC than us anyway, there is no benefit to our relative seeding.

It all depends on the countries club coefficents above us.
They have higher country contribution at the moment but that will be wiped out which means our country status should improve, hopefully

I read that UEFA rules state that in case this happens, the team allowed to play would be the team that had the better position in their league. Since Salzburg won the Austrian League, and Red Bull Leipzig was second place in the german league, that would mean RB Salzburg through.

Salzburg could refuse to enter the tournament. If so, Austria would lose their place completely. If both Salzburg and Leipzig enter the tournament, and UEFA denies one of them entry, then it's as you say - Leipzig would lose out.

That is correct. And as I said in my post, RB would certainly withdraw Salzburg rather than Leipzig.

Oh and, speaking of Leipzig, how epic was their collapse to Bayern today??

The calculation for country club coefficient will not change. Your post seems to imply that the bonus to club coefficient due to country club coefficient is then re-added into later years' calculation for the country club coefficient... it's not. Country club coefficient is not based on club coefficient.

What i was meaning is that the country club coefficient will no longer be there after next season and that means that all coefficient points earned by the combined efforts of each nations clubs this coming season will be irrelevant as they will have to be removed.
The only thing the country club will be used for is to place clubs in relevant rounds of the comps.

Edit: Meant the 20% part of the coefficient points that are added will be removed.

Well sure, this is what I said in my original post. But as I also stated in response to your post #83, removal of the 20% country club coefficient bonus from the club coefficient calculation will not affect the country club coefficient. Scotland's rank in country club coefficient will not change due to the bonus change.

We'll end up where we end up. We're a better team than we were at the beginning of the season and much better than when we played Gladbach.

Looking at this year's 3rd seeds the only team I would have worried about was Spurs but they will most likely be seeded second this year.

If we do end up 4th seeded I can guarantee every club involved will be praying we don't end up in their group.

I don't know about that, to be honest.

We are yet to prove on that level, that despite our obvious domestic improvement, just how much we have improved.

As Streich (Freiburg manager) said this week:

We are a draw for clubs, they love coming to Parkhead for the atmosphere, but they also know we aren't the force of the past.

Hopefully we are on the track to becoming that club again, but at the moment we are a bit of an unknown quantity. Clubs relish playing us, rather than fearing it.

I can't see how every club won't be thinking "unbeaten for an entire domestic season and strengthened, that's not gonna be easy"

Although I'd much rather them think "it'll be easy play the kids"

    Then we pump them :56:

They're certainly talking as if it's all sorted, and that there's now no conflict on interest. We'll just need to wait and see if that's the case, and whether UEFA force the issue if it isn't.

Ignorance? Football fans, especially the English, use it as a reason to bash the league rather than praise the unbeaten club.

The clubs will value it higher, managers will respect it, but in reality they know the the vast discrepancies between us and the rest of Scotland.

Dortmund, Monaco, Spurs and all the big boys will not be praying to avoid us, not this season anyway. If we perform to a high standard next season, that's when we will start being viewed as a force again.

Rosenborg went unbeaten in 2010, won a double and got pumped out of the UCL qualifiers by some diddy team. Lets make it through those games before talking about teams "Praying" to avoid us.

Just FYI, Leipzig (2nd in Bundesliga) will with virtual certainty be in Pot 4, and Pot 4 could also include clubs like Besiktas and Anderlecht (both made EL QF last year, and didn't lose by much to OL and ManU respectively, with the former going to PK).

Look, I'm as rah-rah as anybody about Celtic home support especially on European nights, but a healthy dose of reality is needed. We aren't the same club we were 10 years ago especially now coming off the absolutely disastrous RD era, and even under BR last year we didn't win a single game in CL GS.

I'd be happy enough to draw Besiktas or Anderlecht, say we get there.

Leipzig would be a toughie but they might end up punting two or three of their best players this summer. They don't need the money but better teams will come calling.

Good. I hope they think we're *. We are going to seriously show up some big teams. We got unlucky with the group last year. Hardest possible group and our names drawn.

Praying we get into the groups and
I'd quit like to have man utd if they even qualify.
    Glamour match - tick.
A team that can't score 7 vs us - tick
A team more than beatable - tick
A load of arm chair fans to get it up them - tick.

    Bring them all on.

P.s. I'm in the anyone but barca camp.

The age old debate of last 16 vs a run in the europa personally I would love another final rather than the last 16. The champions league is rigged for teams with money just look at this season the teams who didn't make it through
