Besides Cech who is getting less reliable as he gets older, same could be said of Koscielny to a lesser extent and Sanchez they are pretty ordinary. Ozil has bags of talent but is quite often posted missing. They are too soft and for all the illusion of them being a silky team they're actually not that good in all honesty. It's like their philosophy is to be better at football than teams who want to mix it and triumph that way but they're not good enough to. Quite easy to suss them out and a lot of teams do.

They haven't played good football in over a decade. Their peak when they were utter class and frightening going forward was the early 2000s probably about 2000-2004 Ljungberg, Pires, Bergkamp, Wiltord and Henry some pace on the attack and cut through teams with ease. When they reached the CL final in 2006 they were already past their best I think.

 

Sanchez is brilliant but Spurs have easily got a better squad for me.

They need a big shake up, starting with the manager.

They need big * in midfield capable of scything people like they used to have, imagine the current Arsenal going up against Roy Keane's United, it would be anything but the battle it used to be.

Spurs have a good XI but lack depth beyond that, particularly in attack. Arsenal have more options when everyone's fit. That's part of the problem as well, archaic injury management. You'd expect a club with their facilities to not have consistent issues. Bournemouth do a better job of keeping Wilshere on the pitch.

That's the thing, back then the team was full of winners who could grab you a point or three and stand up in tough games. If they didn't blow teams away with slick, incisive football they'd still gut it out, this current crop can do neither.
