Started going to the gym 8 weeks ago. Weighed around 15 stone 4 (around 215 lbs) back then, managed to drop it to 14 stone 5 and hoping to lose another 5/6 lbs. Not touched the weights yet but i'm planning to either next week or the week after, just been pure cardio at the moment. Main thing for now is to integrate vegetables into my diet, which is the hardest part by far :52:

That's the problem! I enjoy lettuce and sweetcorn, and i can stomach broccoli, but everything else i can't stand. Onions are the worst by far, Peppers are also pretty rank for me :38:.
I ordered some of that 5 a day juice so i can get them in my diet, expensive but it's the only way for me :56:

Can you eat tomatoes in a sauce?

Lettuce - make yourself some homemade burgers (lean mince of course). Grate an onion into the patty mix, and use two leafs of lettuce instead of a burger bun.

    Do you like barbeque sauce?

Suprisingly enough i can stomach tomatoes in a sauce, if i see a big chunk of it i'll usually pick it out however (childhood habits eh? :57:)

No a bad idea about the burgers either. My main goal in my diet was to cut out bread and replace it with something, might give that a try :50:

Also yes i love bbq sauce. I've actually been replacing cheese on most things i eat with a sauce of some sort, cuts out the saturated fat and i usually have loads of sugar to play around with anyway.

Here's a belter of a sauce for ye then mate, includes both tomatoes AND onion:

    1. Low calorie cooking spray.
    2. 1 onion, peeled and roughly chopped.
    3. 1 tsp mild chilli powder.
    4. 225g passata (or tin tomoatoes)
    5. 3 tbsp sweetener (or x3 sweetener tabs)
    6. 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar.
    7. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
    8. ½ tsp mustard powder (or half teaspoon of English mustard)
Fry yer onions in the low-cal spray until softened, add in your powder ingredients, fry for about 30 seconds then add in all of your wet ingredients.

Continue to fry off on a low-medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, blend to a smooth consistency, and BLAM!!!!!

Home made low fat barbeque sauce, it's lovely mate.....trust me.

Fire some of that on top of yer burger, or use it for a coating on boneless, skinless chicken thighs.

    * me, I'm hungry now.

If your exercise is causing you to expend more energy than you consume then yes you can eat more. The issue arises when you stop doing that exercise and keep on eating the same way. If your weight is remaining stable then it shows you that you are eating what you expend.

Will check my weight today after I gym. I am 6 foot tall and was 90kg (by no means fat) coming out here. Feel a lot sharper (mentally and physically) for having got back into a gym routine :celt_2:
