Just going back to what we'd been discussing over the last few pages (slightly off topic, sorry) about whether Celtic is an elite club or not etc.

Rodgers himself sums it up fairly well.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39459772

There might be more prestigious and competitive Leagues, but there aren't too many clubs bigger than Celtic. He does say that when you support Celtic (as both he and Tierney do) then it's that bit more special.

That doesn't mean that they won't both leave eventually, though.

It's the money, the lifestyle and the challenge will be hard to turn down.

If he stays at Celtic he will earn a maximum of £30k per week at the peak of his career, if he moves to England he will likely ear £60k+ at least bonuses in the EPL will probably be 3/4/5 times higher than here too for winning Cups, qualifying for Europe or avoiding relegation just cause the money floating about.

Staying at Celtic too he will be lucky to qualify for the CL once every 2 years to get to play against great players. In the EPL he will play against top players basically every month in big stadiums, near half the EPL teams have 50,000+ capacity or will in a couple of years with Chelsea and Spurs building bigger.

Then in England he will have a more relaxed lifestyle, there will be no bother from Celtic fans as he's probably mobbed by us everywhere he goes and no bother off huns who probably annoy him everywhere too. There will also be not as much pressure on him, playing for Celtic he will feel under big pressure to win every week and to not let the huns get near winning the League even at a tem like Man U he will still want to win every week but it wouldnt be as devestating to him to lose games or under achieve as a team.

He could be alive for 50 year after retiring and when the offers on the table it'll be hard to turn down. As you'd start to think "what if I knock back this £60k a week for £12k a week at Celtic then do my knee and end up *".

I think the challenge will be the biggest thing. Obviously finances play a big part, but if we have players and managers who can compete at a higher level, they have to go.

It was pretty obvious that Wanyama and latterly Van Dijk found it far too easy in Scottish football in their 2nd seasons with us. They needed to go and challenge themselves at a higher level to continue their development and to prove themselves to a wider audience.

Tierney, Rodgers and Dembele are 3 guys under contract at Celtic who have the capacity to compete at a much higher level than the Scottish Premier League.
Dembele will go sooner, as he has no prior connection to the club. Rodgers will want to test himself at the top level, whether that be back in England or at a top club abroad. If Tierney continues to develop as he has over the last 12-18 months, he'll end up at a top club. We might keep him a little longer since he grew up a supporter, but that'll only be the case if the team continues to improve around him.

Another thing is the repetitiveness of Scottish football also, we play teams 4 times a season, must get monotonous going to the same stadiums 2, 3, sometimes 4 times a season year in year out, especially for foreign players as the majority of them are wee shiteholes.

Like Tierney, this weekend will be his 6th game against Hearts and it'll only be his 67th appearance... and we will play them again probably a few weeks later.

That last pic "Kieran, it's like the lights have broken down, you're the traffic warden and you're saying 'look you're not going anywhere, this is a one way street.'"

Quiet game by his high standards. Still, another assist and on he rolls.

He is a massive Tim, it's not even debatable. He has been brought up well.

I've never heard anyone question him being a massive Tim mate?

Anyway, I'm so happy for the young lad. We're lucky to have him... It takes a lot to keep Izzy out our team. Especially so at his age.

Completely agree he's been brought up well too... Can see he has manners and will grow up to be a gentleman.

Like Brown, I think he could do with a bit of a rest. I'd like to see Izzy play the next couple of matches.

He did have a few months off with injury, not long ago. I don't think he is needing a rest.

Aye but he's played non stop since coming back. He was great for Scotland but the last 3 or 4 games for us I think he's looked quite leggy.

    Wasn't quite at it today.
