You are at Celtic, established first team star. An offer comes in from the EPL, offering you 60k a week.

What would it take for you to stay at Celtic, wage wise?

I personally would stay at Celtic for 20k. I wouldn't tell the board that but I would. :giggle1:

How much money do you really need to be happy and fulfilled?

Scoring goals for another team would feel wrong.

Use the money, get yourself an accountant, some real estate portfolios, shares and * and spend your career getting adulation from the very people you love.

You have a raft of players now in the "premier league" happy to be professional footballers who don't actually play any * football, the money is so obscene.

I like to think there are still players out there who value success over the not so almighty pound.

All depends. If i was single, no kid's and a Celtic fan..... then 10/20 and I'd be over the moon..

Star man though. Ego. Other's on more than you at club and thing's start going west. Money often brings out the worst in people. Plus those * agent's..

Career, securing my kid's families for year's to come etc...I'd be looking for the most possible..

Hopefully Celtic do a Larsson with me then :fear:

How much do you genuinely need though mate. At some point the numbers become just that, numbers. If you are smart with your 20k a week for 10 years you can everything you could ever want in life.

Plus you get to play your football every week at Celtic Park soaking up the adulation of an adoring crowd.

I can't think of anything more fulfilling.

Me and the wife have three kids and have about 30K a year coming in here. If I couldn't make it on 20k a week I couldn't look at myself in the mirror.

I would like to think so as well, but we need to have a degree of reality here, the kind of money that's on offer is life changing, a young player may have a family to consider in the near future, a footballers career can be a short one.

20k is life changing though, that is my point. At some point you just have too much money and don't know what to with it.

That's when you get strikers who have scored at 29 goals in 4 years, sitting on 70k a week contracts.

You might have the money to put pink rims on your hummer and look like an amazing * but do you have life satisfaction?

True, but you'd be surprised how many people end up in debt, bankrupt etc after earning millions..

Chris Sutton for one. Family man. Never heard any binge stories or anything from him and should've been a multi millionaire..

It was established player, then you said 20k (I should have read more) in that case the board would need to increase the wage significantly although it would also depend on what I had already won. I know you have said you would stay for 20k, in your case I will believe that, but most would be gone if they are being honest.

Its nothing to do with being greedy either and all about being valued. So less of your cheek sonny :86: :giggle1:

It's one thing to talk as a supporter, but if you were actually that player in that situation ......?

I'd play for Celtic for * all, in fact i'd pay Them, but i'm past it and not in demand :84:

I'd be more than happy on the wages of a * Motherwell player or something.

    Between £4-5k a week? Easy :56::56::56::56:
