    Regarded as one of the best full-backs of his generation, Dani Alves is an offensive right-back or wing-back who is known in particular for his pace, stamina, overlapping attacking runs, and technical skills, which also enable him to play in midfield, or as a winger; he is also gifted with good crossing accuracy and distribution, which allows him to link up with midfielders, and makes him an effective assist provider along the right flank.

    Alves is the second-most decorated footballer in European competitions of all time with nine European medals, leaving him one behind Paolo Maldini on the all-time list.

    Exactly what I was going for, but Boswinga was similar in style of play and is still a good pick. Happy with Kohler as my centre back.

    Started making a list of players to use after my first three picks. I've got around 40 players from all positions except Goalkeeper, Left Back and Centre Back that aren't in anyone's team yet. There's some real quality that still hasn't been picked as of now.

    Didi, or the 'Ethiopian Prince' as he was sometimes called, is simply one of the greatest midfielders of all time. A fact that is made even more impressive when you consider that he almost lost his right leg to infection when he was fourteen years old.

    He was an impressive passer of the ball, particularly in regards to the accuracy of his long range passes, something of a dead ball specialist and is widely regarded as the 'inventor' of the folha seca/dry leaf free kick (where the ball swerves downward unexpectedly at a point resulting in a goal). He was part of the 1958 & 1962 World Cup winning sides, alongside two of my other picks - Djalma & Nilton Santos, and was even named player of the tournament in the former.

    As an additional bit of trivia, he's also apparently the first person to ever use the phrase 'The Beautiful Game' in regard to football.

    Antonio Cabrini (1) Scored the winner in Italy's win over Argentina at the 1982 world cup.

    One of the best left backs ever, part of the Italian back line which won the world cup in 82 and stopped the likes of Maradona and Zico along the way. One of few players to also win all UEFA club competitions, in addition to 6 serie A titles, with Juventus.

    Young player of the tournament at the 1978 word cup. Now in charge of the Italian women's team.

    Quite happy with that considering where I was near the end, good few picks I had in mind went. I'm most pleased with my attacking 4, which I personally think would rival most.

    Benbarek is a bit of an unknown quantity but from reading about him, seemed the complete midfielder.

    Will go more in depth during the formation thread itself.
