    Yeah, I'd say most wouldn't know the bulk of the three-in-a-row Ajax side outside of the obvious names like Cruyff, Neeskens and Krol. You imagine Horst could have had quite an impact for the Dutch in '74 who were having to play Arie Haan out of position in central defence, such was their lack of depth there.

    I've just noticed that someone, somewhere has made a mess of counting category 8.

    Category 8 has been picked from 12 times. Therefore, the last two people who picked from category 8 will have to re-pick.

    When I tallied up on page 14 it had 7 picks in it.

    Then I picked Van Der Sar. On page 16. So from then onwards it's had 4 picks.

    Edit: Just noticed the next update still had the number of picks at 7. Probably where it went diddies up.

    Ok, it was at this point where Category 8 should have been locked.


    This means that @packybhoy got the final pick from category 8, with Billy McNeill.

    Since then, two extra category 8 picks have been made.

    @Idioteque picked Jamie Carragher in category 8, when he shouldn't have been able to.

    Just working out who the other one is.

    There was also a point where moustache put two cat 8's in by accident then changed one to 12. Might explain an extra number you are looking for.

    Due to a miscount of the categories on Page 14, we inadvertently thought Category 8 had more picks remaining, than it did.

    When Packybhoy picked Billy McNeill for Cat 8, it should have been locked.

    Since then @V For Vendetta and @Idioteque have picked Karl Heinz Rummenigge and Jamie Carragher respectively.

    These picks are ineligible for Category 8 as the category was locked at that point.


    Solution

    V and Idioteque, you have a choice.

    You can either:
    ​
    • Lose the Cat 8 player you picked, then pick a new player from another open category
    • Try and fit your player from Cat 8 into another category
    OR

    • Keep the player as a Cat 8 player, but lose the opportunity to pick from any category in the final round of picks, meaning you would be limited to the categories that remain open.
