My first pick is a legendary stopper, to partner Gaetano Scirea in defence.





Absolutely delighted to get Jürgen Kohler (Category 16, 5 clubs or more)

He is the perfect partner for Gaetano Scirea in the centre of my defence. An immensely successful centre back who won the 1990 World Cup, the 1996 European Championship, the 1997 Champions League, the 1992 UEFA Cup, three Bundesliga titles, 1 Serie A title, 1 Coppa Italia and 1 Intercontinental Cup.

"Regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation, Kohler was a physically strong centre-back, who was famed for his defensive perception, anticipation, quick reactions, marking, and prowess in the air, which also made him a goal threat during set-pieces; he was also known for his composure when in possession, and his ability to play the ball out of defence."

Comfortable on the ball and an excellent stopper, his partnership with Scirea is a match made in heaven. Making exactly 500 top flight league appearances during his career, he was a key component of every team he played for, which included Bayern Munich, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

Further to this, he appeared for the German national team a staggering 105 times, winning the two biggest trophies available to him at international level.
