no, not this time. there's always a huge amount of police in use when this two teams play against each other.

By the way, here's the official video from the fanclub:

Austria Vienna is building a new stadium. Capacity only 17.500. But it looks great!

it seems like attendances are fairly small in the league, is their a particular reason for this? I had kinda assumed austria would have had a similar fan culture to germany which was just out of ignorance I guess.

Looks like a great atmosphere though!

If Rapid needs once some money, father state helps with "violets" (500 euro note is violet).

"* off millions and bags full of money, sturm graz - you are all what's important"

How easy is it to get a Sturm Graz ticket.
I am over in Munich at Christmas time and fancy going to a match as will be visiting Graz (wife has friends that live there) and fancied going to a match.

our fan culture is similar to germany but - like you said - a bit smaller. At the moment Rapid Vienna has a average attendance over 21.200, and Sturm Graz one about 10.700. The Atmosphere is great just in the fan corners of these clubs. (Ok, and in the one of Austria Salzburg, but they are playing in a lower league.) Forget the other clubs.

It's easy if Sturm isn't playing against Rapid Vienna or RB Salzburg. Sunday's game against Rapid was nearly sold out.
Try to get a ticekt in the fan sectors 9-13, it's the most fun there :50:

:50: Well, Rapid Vienna is sponsored by "Wien Energie" thats the state energy supplier! There's a saying amongst Austrian football-fans: Wiener Mafia! (Viennese Mob)

ah I see so their isn't quite the equivalent of celtic and rangers in sense of fanbase, so is football not as popular in austria? as the population is more than scotland. I suppose it must be difficult having germany and italy as neighbours to maintain the league like us with england.

I still remember sturm graz playing livingston!

hehehe, well I remember that game too :)
I think skiing is more popular in austria than football, because we have the best ski-drivers since ever ^^ but football is nr. 2. rapid vienna has by far the biggest fan base, followed by sturm graz and austria vienna. before austria salzburg was destroyed by red bull they had a big fan base too.
in fact every football-interested austrian has a favorite club in germany and is watching the bundesliga in tv. bayern munich and bvb have lots of supporters in austria. italy less, because the language is different ;)
no club in austria can be compared with celtic in terms of fan base and reputation, I've to make that clear :celt_2:

Any good pubs there that will be ok for me to go in wearing a Celtic top. Will have a Sturm Graz scarf possibly.:84:
Also, is it best to book tickets online and collect at stadium or get them sent to UK.

Austria hasnt overly been a place I have put high on my list of places to visit, but sort of wanting to now after reading this thread.
Same goes with Switzerland, though Austria would be above.
