To be honest, even the figure of matching us for 30 minutes is generous.

They did cause us some early trouble but we got forward plenty in that time too. They just bust a gut defending against us so they didn't concede early and it was effective. Don't think they came close to dominating us at all.

I said they matched us, I didn't say they dominated us.

Erik anytime scorer 14/1 with Betfred

Considering he should have 2 in 4 v them - if it weren't for that cheating * Thomson - and how bad they are at set pieces, that must be worth a few quid?

We have to learn the lessons from Ibrox and make sure we are focused on our own game and pick the right personal for the game. We only beat them 2-1 at Ibrox, and they dominated us for the first half hour and both Erik and Lustig had a nightmare, we could easily have found ourselves 3-0 down at that stage, so let's not get carried away with wild predictions, and concentrate on just winning the game.

    :43: How's that?

We were uncharacteristically slow out of the traps but I don't recall them having many real chances.

Aye not to mention the chances we were still creating during them 'dominating' us. :87:

What I was getting at is that they managed to keep up with us for 30 mins at most. That was on their own turf, with a full house right behind them and even a goal to give them a lift.

Even in the game at Hampden, they sat in and defended for their lives, really. Only a 'keeper having a great game and the post/crossbar stopped them going behind sooner.

    A) It was 2-1 going on 7-2 and B) Lustig lost McKay once or twice and Sviatchenko made a couple of poor passes.

They didn't dominate us. At all. Quite the opposite, in fact. They ran and chased for half an hour then we really gripped the game.

I think you are understating the facts and being economical with the actualite.
They had chances to make it 2-2 in the Ibrox game, it was never the sort of imagined runaway win you are attempting to describe.

If my recollections serve me well we were dominated by St Mirren only last week in the first half, and that was at Parkhead, we could easily have been 2-0 down at half time. We have to learn these lessons and take them onboard and act on them.

For my money our defence is weaker when * and Erik are playing.
I think Gamboa and Jozo give us a more solid, mobile and complete defence.

If by facts, you mean the match stats then I think you maybe need to have another look.
We had them pinned back for long spells and, when they eventually went for the equaliser we had the better of the chances.
Yes, Miller hit the post, but we created the far better goalscoring opportunities in that second half.

We have vastly differing opinions on domination in football, obviously. St Mirren defended well and had the lead at half-time while we struggled to get going, sure. And they came close to making it 2-0 (after half-time).

Roberts is a better player than Forrest however I see Brendan's thinking with using Roberts as an impact sub.

Wallace does get up and down the park and I don't think Roberts would enjoy tracking him.

That being said, I can't see them doing much attacking on Sunday.

Good, I'm quite happy for Roberts to be further up the pitch than Lee Wallace. If they do that, he will absolutely * molest them.
