the whole team has to rely on 2 players mcgeady and naka and when they arent doing it we fold

 

I think he needs more support when moving up the field.

If you consider the fact that 3 men will be marking/putting pressure on him at one time. If he plays the ball to whoever is supporting him then those 3 men are taken out the game. The guy is one of the few that actually care about Celtic and it is obvious he is giving it his all.

 

I wouldn't because against Gretna he'll be a key player. I would "rest" McGeady for the Ibrox game as it would benefit the rest of the team if the selection was successful.

what? that doesn't really make sense, why wont he be a key player against the gers? he needs a rest and the time to do it would be against gretna, deeks looked sharp when he came on the other night and he'll be leaving in the summer so a few good performances before the end of the season might get him a good move down south

 

i dont think anybody can deny mcgeadys got exceptional talent, but as i said on here a few weeks ago n got slated for it, where do we see this talent, against the likes of the aberdeens, hearts, falkirks ? Go on ! tell me one game hes totally starred over 90 minutes against the huns ! tell me one game against any of europes big guns that hes been outstanding ! aye i adore watching him in full flight its a treat to watch, but i want to see it on the big stage

 

The huns game isn't a big stage.

And AC MILAN first leg Last 16 0-0 . McGeady was getting praised from everyone in that Milan Team.

Plus the fact teams now put more than 1 man on him shows how good he is, it will take him a wee while to learn to create more space for himself.

 

I can tell you one game, the 2-0 when Miller scored his first goal. He starred that day.

I cant believe that people are slating him. He is our best player. Without him it is a very avergae team with no creativty. Trying to compare McGeady and Riordan just aint on. McGeady is head and shoulders above him. Riordan aint a left mid or left winger. Deal with it.

Sell McGeady and bring back Maloney? You are off your head. He did well for us when he was here. But he left. He stuk two fingers up at us and chased MON with his bag of gold coins. He played one good deason after seasons of indifferent form. He then tells us he need to leave to further his career. He wouldnt have had one if Celtic hadnt gave him a new contract when he got injured.

I think the ones who are criticising McGeady should have a look at yourselves. So he is to make space for himself, create goals for others in the team and score goals. Not asking much eh! His control is not poor, if it was then he wouldnt be considered our best player. He is our 3rd top goalscorer. Back off and support the guy. He is here and doing the business. One bad patch of form and everyone turns on him. Great fans, I must say.

 

so because iv a different opinion than u ..... u question my support ! nah mate its all about opinions (urs and mine included) and i take umbridge to comments of that sort ......... how long u supported celtic? how long have u actually gone to support them ? u bought any shares in the club ? ...... iv followed since i was 6 yrs of age ........ saw the best times but also saw the worst........... yet i stood n still supported the team i luv and i will till the day i die....... i never suggested mcgeady had exemplerary talents (read my statement) wat i did say tho he needs to do it on the big stage, against the huns n against teams like barca n that. Is that me implying hes a bad player ? i genuinely wish people on this site would actually annalyse wat other punters are saying b4 commenting, becos we differ in opinion at times disnae mean we are anti-celtic, it means that punters are saying wat they actually feel, ffs since wen did debate become unhealthy ? I never questioned your support of Celtic. I questioned your support of McGeady. He is the one player who has starred fo us this year in Europe. He scored a solo goal against Benfica. Got the ball twice against Bara at CP and was involved in both goals. I just dont know what else people are expecting from him. He is our top performer. If it wasnt for him I would hate to have thot what state we would be in this year.

He is the top creative player we have. If you watch creative players (and I am in no way saying that you dont before you go off on a tangent again) you see that at some point during a season they have a dip in form. Where things that were working for them a fortnite ago just aint happening. It only the really world class players that this doesnt seem to happen to at least once a season. And I dont think any1 is saying that McGeady is better than Ronaldo.

And for the record, I have a season ticket at CP and have done since it opened back up. I dont exactly what age I started supporting Celtic so I wont try and compete with saying it was 5. I do have shares.

I do respect others opinions. This is a forum for debate about Celtic issues. You say your point, I say mine and we then try and back up our point. So dont throw the dummie out the pram the next time, actually read what I or others have wrote before you start to feel that we are questioning your support of Celtic.

 

when a guy has been carrying a side for a whole season as much as aiden has you're bound to see a dip in form. i've been saying for a while now that aiden will not be able to carry us for much longer, he's used up far too much energy. the same could be said for scott mcdonald.

we need other players to start helping him out.

 

naka looked better against aberdeen, we still need the speedier players to get us up-field (aiden, brown, hinkel, naylor) but naka can jink himself some room and provide another crossing option for the strikers. This will relieve pressure from Aiden.

As of right now our strikers need to find the net from these crosses. I don't think Aiden is the problem right now, its the lack of form of Hesselink and (even more so) McDonald.

buying shares and going to the games every week doesn't make you more of a celtic fan, just one with more money.

 

connor i aint got money mate but i took a loan to buy shares, and it aint a money spinner ........... but i wanted to own a part of the club i luv n support mate, but im still there supporting them week in week out ......are u ?

 

i'm only managing to get overf rom belfast once this season.

2 years ago i spent well over a grand to buy a house which ended up falling through and still lost the money.

then last year i got engaged to my girlfriend which set me back a further 2 grand.

i'm now in the midlle of buying house againg also and saving for a wedding which is pretty dear, i'm sure a lot of fans around my age (27) that have been involved in weddings will agree.

i've also to save for my friend's wedding which is coming up in September in Lanzarote, a further 1 grand outta my pocket.

i costs me around £70 just to get my ticket and travel, never mind the £40-£50 spending money i need as it's a long day out from Belfast.

also being a civil servant the wages aren't great as i'm sure any civil servants from the north of Ireland will tell you.

i'm just lucky enough to have a partner that is sending me for my birthday.

hope that clears up that you don't have to be going every week as some people just can't afford to.

p.s. my wee brother gets over around 5-6 times a season. he'd get over more often only he plays football in our local leagues here evry saturday. does this make him any less of a supporter??????
