SB on his @ScottishFA future: "I have made myself available. Gordon and I have spoken and we will take it from there

SB: "Up to him whether he chooses me. I enjoyed the last game even though we got beat 3-0. I am proud to play for my country. "

SB: "Over the last couple of weeks I have managed to maintain a standard of training and playing. Didn't want my form to dip."

SB: "I didn't want the way I have been playing to dip by going away with Scotland.

SB: "If I can continue my form until end of the season then it'll have been a good shout. if not, we know what will need to happen."

SB: "Obviously the priority for him (manager) & myself is Celtic. If I find out this is too much for me, will be back to retirement."

SB: "We are going to take it one game at a time and see how it goes, and hopefully we can get a result this time."

SB on issue of tackling: "The last couple of tackles on Jamesy and Scotty have been quite reckless."

SB: "But I have been on the end of 5 or 6 nil, and you don't get a touch of the ball for 3 or 4 min and your body gets tired."

SB: "You lunge in thinking you have a chance of getting the ball and you are nowhere near it, just tiredness more than anything."

SB: "It shows how fit we are. We have a lot of the ball and we try to tire teams out as teams are defending quite deep."

SB: "We can stick up for ourselves. A lot of people in the changing room who love an honest tackle - hard but always clean."

SB on unbeaten run: "Momentum is a huge thing. Great for us to go on the park and continue playing that kind of football."

SB: "For the fans to be enjoying has been great for us as well. The longer we can continue this, the better for everyone."

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
    Extremely poor decision.

    Scotland's WC campaign is over.

Playing on in June when we have important CL qualifiers coming up in July is wholly irresponsible.

As has been proven before, his body cannot cope with it.

SCOTT Brown says he wanted to be certain his performance levels at Celtic were still of a high standard before deciding to make himself available for Scotland selection.

The Hoops captain came out of international retirement in November for the ‘Auld Enemy’ clash at Wembley to try and help Gordon Strachan’s side get their World Cup qualification bid back on track.

Despite having good spells in the match, and creating several decent openings, the national team lost 3-0 in London to leave them second bottom of Group F.

After the match, Brown said he would take some time to consider whether to continue representing his country

And it was the 31-year-old’s sparkling form for the champions that persuaded him to tell Gordon Strachan that he would be available before the upcoming qualifier in March against Slovenia.

“I have made myself available,” said Brown. “Gordon and I have spoken and we will take it from there if he chooses me or not. In the last couple of weeks I have managed to maintain a good standard of playing and training week-in, week-out. I didn’t want my body or my form to dip due to going away with Scotland and not having a few days off.

"I enjoyed the last game even though we lost 3-0 - being with the lads and Gordon again, the training and going away. I am proud to play for my country and I enjoy it.

“I felt we did quite well against England. In the last 20 minutes it was always going to be hard but we created chances and we could have easily scored goals but it wasn’t to be our day.”

Should he be called-up for national service next month, Brown will assess what kind of impact it has had on his club form before making his mind up on his long-term international future.

“This is huge for me,” added the midfielder ”If I can continue my form until the end of the season then it won’t have been a bad shout but, if not, then we know what will need to happen.

“Obviously the priority for Brendan Rodgers and myself is for Celtic. I want to be playing here week-in, week-out here, and if I find out that this game is too much for me then it will be back to retirement for me.

“We are just going to take it one game at a time and see how it goes. I enjoyed meeting up with the lads the last time and hopefully we can get a good result this time.”

Good luck to him. He's obviously passionate about Scotland. The way I see it though, is that if it affects his performance for us, he'll chuck it.

No happy with him one bit..

We aren't qualifying from yet again another disastrous group, so what's the point?

If we were in a playoff, or an actual tournament I could understand completely..

Can't help but feel that * Strachan has begged him back..

I reckon you're right but he probably feels he owes a lot to GS and there's no one that can question the captain's loyalty.

I do believe that if it affects his performance, he'll chuck it, like I said.

Let's not forget he's only 31. He moves about like he's still in his prime.

I just hope he doesn't get injured.

He owes nothing to Strachan. He's given him nothing but 100% for both club and country..

It clearly affects him and will do in the future, and I've no doubt nothing good will come from this..

Infact I suspect he's going to majorly regret this move...
