Feeling a lot better since I cut out * and started doing a few extra runs/workouts a week.

Have a gap of about 4 hours between work and college on a Wednesday and yesterday got a good 8.5km jog in, where normally I'd just go home and sit on my * for the few hours, felt so much more awake for the rest of the day and just in a better humour in general.. definitely going to keep it going.

When you say snacking, what kind of food were you snacking on?

I've been trying to cut down on it myself and I'm sticking to things like apples/bananas and if I'm very hungry I'll have rice cakes/ryvita crackers or a nature valley bar.

Well in the office, people are always bringing in sweets and cakes and chocolates. So I'm sticking to water and cups of tea.

I'm seriously thinking about throwing in a yoga session once a week. Just in the house mind, got an app on the Amazon firestick to follow.

I * my shoulder couple of months back and I've been doing a lot of chest stretches since, what a difference I've noticed! Same with stretching my hip flexors (I have mild anterior pelvic tilt). Stretching is the business!

I've been going to physio recently for shin splints and I've been given a lot of yoga like stretches and exercises. They're really helping. Thinking about doing some yoga classes myself.

All these years of football and weights with no consideration to my flexibility or posture has really taken its toll. It's great the feeling you get after some deep stretching. Done some foam rolling too :50:

I avoid the staff room at lunch time for that exact reason, * where I work love themselves, always some sort of cake or tin of biscuits/chocolates being passed around and I find it hard to turn it down.

Yoga is something I'd love to give a go as well. I dont stretch nearly as much as I should and my posture is pretty bad.

See just for starters, I do these every so often before going to bed. Most guys who have pounded bench press with poor form etc and no stretching will find these excellent.

and a quick one that's good too

For posture stuff I also learned some good stuff from Elliot and his Strength Camp channel.

Good man Mark, going to give those a watch. The forward head posture is a bad one of mine, mainly from playing too much Playstation.

Watched it there, makes sense to me what he's saying. Points out the two muscles in the neck and I often get cramps in those muscles if I turn my head sharply, presume thats a result of my bad posture. He also points out the areas right around the head that are actually muscle and I've suffered tension headaches for a good few years in those areas too which again I suspect are because of my bad posture.

100% going to give his videos on stretches for the neck a watch. I'll probably do them after gaming. :giggle1:

Yeah my neck is a bit * too. Sitting at a desk all day doesn't help. You ever heard of occipital neuralgia mate? Could be you've had a bit of that. A good massage can help that too.

The hard bit is sticking to the stretching. It's pretty boring and time consuming but I try and do it while watching TV or that. After gaming would definitely make sense! :giggle1:

Had a read about that there, possibly as it sounds not far off what I get although the pain I get is never severe, its just mildly annoying but pretty constant.

If you are able to skip but can't for ages, just do some HIIT.

First day back at eating healthy again and also trying to cold turkey the * at the same time.

Will go for a run at the gym later to ease myself back in to it, not going to weigh myself till next week either as if I done it just now my world would end :giggle1:

Heads up, if anyone here is pretty serious about the gym and into their macros etc, Rob Riches is giving away his Lean Nutrition book for free on Amazon (Kindle version, you can get a Kindle app on your iPhone), for a limited time . It's pretty detailed and more aimed at getting "ripped" but thought I'd share.
