We've lost Lou Reed. Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Prince in recent years so I think Madonna or Tina Turner will be next.

Really gutted about this, the first album of theirs with that on it is a cracker. Theres a version they recorded for the BBC at the time on the deluxe edition of the album really good version.

It really has been a bad year .
We have lost too many legends this year .
Loved Quo as they seemed a a right down to earth group who enjoyed a spiff , a pint and a laugh .
    RIP rick .

I think the band are still going and have been without him since last year I think!

He was made to stop on medical grounds as he's had multiple heart attacks and operations...

Never my sort of music but read a lot of rock biographies irrespective of who they are... If I recall .. Parfitt smoked heavily since the age of 14 and was a serious, serious boozer for a long long time.

    * me I was into Quo by default my wife loved them been following them and going to there gigs since we were 1977 when I was 17.

We were at the hydro on Tuesday to see them and I said they weren't the same without Parfit.

At least she got to see him live one last time back in May at Tranmere Rovers ground.

Happy days, and great memories ...... RIP, Rick

Especially the big names Castro, Prince, Bowie, Ali, Cruyff, not often you get that many worldwide known in the one year.

This is likely only be the start of it now as most big stars of the 50s, 60s and 70s will start going at a good rate over the next decade. You'll probably get a year in future where Billy Connolly, Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, McCartney, De Niro, Pacino, Freeman, Sean Connery, Michael Caine, the Lions :54:, Englands 66 team, Bobby Charlton and all that start dropping like flies as they are all in their 70s the now.

I was at the Glasgow one. Only did about 20 minutes if i recall. I also remember it was torrential rain that day, and my windscreen wipers were knackered.....kept going too far off the side, so i had to drive with the window down so as to push them back on!!

Wasnt a fan as such, but they were good entertainers and a lot of fun. I went to see them do the old stuff with the reformed original lineup a couple of years back...where they played only their bluesy stuff and no big hits (except one i think). It was a cracking night and showed what they could do.

    Sad day.

Saw them live in 1986. In the army tour. Actually might have been 88. Was only a kid. But me and the mates used to get in to see loads of concerts for free because my neighbour was the head of security for Belfast concerts.

It doesn't really do proper damage until it's gone full blown AIDS. That's when your immune system is totally gone.
