Thing is was it Derek Rae who had the cheek to come out and say there are a few people suggesting Brown doesn't get as many yellows as he should. And Sutton was just like "well other teams are going to say that Derek" (you *). No one seems to consider the abuse Broony takes just because he's got a reputation as a hard man and can take a good tackle. But no they'll say he should be getting sent off more when it's obvious if that were true he'd be getting sent off in Europe all the time because those guys don't have bias like Scottish referees. Sounds like me Rae is just trying to mix things up so refs do give Broony more yellows and reds to stop him playing his dominan game which must totally wind them up as he plays fair.

 

The * McKinnon tried to stamp on him too at one point but Broony was too sharp and had moved.

Bet there's been loads of games where players have tried to do that but he's been too clever for them and seen it coming through body language or just visually.

 

Broony was excellent today. Dembele should have set him up for a goal near the end as well.

SCOTT Brown hopes to give Celtic fans the perfect start to 2017 by winning at Ibrox on Saturday in the final fixture of the year. A trip south of the River Clyde to take on the Hoops’ city rivals lies on the horizon for Brown and his Celtic team-mates this weekend, and the Hoops captain is relishing the challenge that lies ahead.

The teams will meet for the second league derby of the season on Saturday at 12.15pm, with Brendan Rodgers’ side 16 points clear of Mark Warburton’s team at the top of the Premiership and unbeaten in domestic competition under the Irishman, and with a game in hand over the Ibrox outfit.

A win on Saturday would cap an outstanding first-half of the season for the Celts, and while the skipper admitted that anything less would not be the end of the world, he explained that, as always, Celtic are going for the three points.

“It’s always going to be hard going to Ibrox, no matter how many points you’re clear or if you’re chasing,” he said after helping his side to a 2-0 victory over Ross County at Paradise last night (Wednesday). “It’s always a hard place to go but we’ve got to go there and believe in our own ability and try to play our own game.

“There’s a lot of pressure on them. We’re a few points clear but you still want to go there and get the three points and have a good performance. Hopefully it’s a good night for the fans as well.

“You’ve got to believe in yourself. We know we’re a good team and if we turn up on the day we can create chances and score goals, but it’s about how we perform on the day.

“We’re a few points clear but we’ve just got to enjoy the occasion. It’s fantastic to be going back to Ibrox but we’ve got a couple of days to get ready and focus on Rangers now. No matter who we’re playing I play with a smile on my face and enjoy winning leagues and hopefully we can continue that.”
