And again you are missing my point, the linesman if he gave it would have signaled as is the actual rules, yes I take the point they have earpieces but the linesman was on his way back to the half way line, im not disputing the decision to give it i was disputing the good Doc's point that the linesman gave it, no the ref had a think then pointed to the spot as was clear to see.

Found the game to be enjoyable. In first half, we played well, our passing was crisp and our intensity high. I thought all the players were excellent, especially broonie.

There are many positives we can take from that performance. For the first time in a long time I can finally see the beginnings of a solid back-four, held together by two excellent and exceptionally promising centre-halves. At times we played football. That's quite something against Barca. Our play was reflected in the stats - 40% possession. Although that figure is still low, it will be lower for other teams, Malaga had less than 20% possession on Saturday. Nice to see Gordon respond to the challenge of being Celtic's No.1, too. He experiences set-backs but he always comes back and gives 100%. Resilience and tenacity are traits that should be admired and respected.

 

I think it's a good thing when fans appreciate great footballers like the time we applauded Iniesta. I think it's also normal for football fans to appreciate the best players in the world gracing their park when they come to play them in the best competition in the world. Remember this is a competition we have won and fans all around the world appreciated us when we won it all those years ago against all the odds. Footballs fans are allowed to admire other football players and teams for whatever reason they want. I don't like it if football fans like other teams because they hold right wing views as them or they are great hooligans. Football should be appreciated the same way it is when you're a kid and your team gets beat by a better team and you know you have to try harder next time. And sometimes you do get a better manager and you do try harder and you do win the next game. That is what football is. The love of Barca is a lot different too, it's political and style, we won the cup in style and we both have a history of independence. You need to look deeper and think about the individual teams before deciding what we are doing.

 

If the linesman thought it was a penalty he wouldn't need to flag as the officials are all miked up.

 

He is always interesting to listen too.
But I think he is wrong on the penalty and about Rogic. I can't see Rogic get any quicker or gaining any more stamina.
I think both Bitton and Rogic are heading for the door, long term.

 

So why when Lustig was done by Neymar was the near side linesman waving like a madman, the mics are only there as back up, do please tell me what the done before the mic system, oh that's right they signaled for a foul, and that still doesn't explain the linesman moving back towards the half way line, that is unless the * behind the goal gave it even then he is meant to enter the field of play to signal for it.

 

I think we have to trust BR's judgement on Rogic. He's a very experienced and talented manager who sees him every day at training.

 

I know RR. But sometimes managers just like to wax lyrical to the commentators and gloss over things.
Don't be suprised to find in the back of Brendan's head he is already calculating to expend both Bitton and Rogic.
