    from today's AGM

to experience the day I signed was one of my happiest days

My dream was to play for Celtic. That never happened but getting to manage is something I’ve always wanted to do

The people here are amazing. It’s a wonderful family club who have a reputation for looking after all employees and staff

BR - Main objectives Continue great work of previous managers with winning mentality but I want us to win in the best way possible

BR - We had great players but I felt we needed more speed. For UCL we needed someone of Kolo’s experience

BR- we’re still looking at adding quality but we also need to cut the size of the squad

BR on @FoundationCFC - Tony and his team do a wonderful job working with people who aren’t as fortunate as us

BR - With a club like Celtic supporting is not a choice but an obligation. My aim is to produce a team that gives the supporters joy

How to handle those players on the way out? BR - It takes time to get the squad as you want it. All players know where they stand

Those who haven’t had game time are treated with respect and involved in training but know they should look elsewhere in Jan

A new improved budget has been agreed for woman’s football team and BR has been involving manager more with mens set up

I’m happy to be Celtic manager and hopefully I’ll be here to win as many titles as possible

BR - This is one of the great clubs of the world. The only thing lacking is the platform for Celtic

Is Jan window important for UCL next season?

BR-Having been thru qualification this season I see how important Jan is for us

BR - We don’t need nos but we need the right type and player of profile

[IMG] BRENDAN Rodgers has been named as the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for October after the Irishman guided Celtic to a perfect set of results.

The Hoops won all four league games in the month without conceding a goal to cement their position at the top of the table.

The Bhoys started October with a 1-0 away win over Dundee, before putting Motherwell to the sword 2-0 in Paradise.

They then beat Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie and ended the month with an emphatic 4-0 victory at Ross County.

On his accolade, the manager said: “It’s a mark of how the team and the staff are working well together. We got some stability with the team defensively and offensively, creating and scoring goals and winning games.

“But we still have a lot of improvements to make in the team as our control and ball possession needs to be a lot better. There are other aspects of our pressing and our defensive organisation that will improve as time goes on. But at this early stage of working together, the players have shown a great appetite to wanting to learn and we have taken that on to the field and got results.”

BR: "That’s our seventh clean sheet in a row. The first-half we played very well."

BR: "In the main I thought we were slick, our movement was good and we had good patience."

BR: "We created chances and I thought we looked really exciting when we were going forward."

BR: "Second-half, give Kilmarnock credit, they came out to throw everything at it."

BR: "Lee’s team did him very proud in the second-half."

BR: "We had chances to finish the game but couldn't quite get the pass to make the finish."

BR: "In the end, after a two week break, having had to change the team, playing on an Astroturf pitch, it was a brilliant result for us."

A HARD-FOUGHT 1-0 win away from home was just the tonic for Brendan Rodgers and his travel-weary squad as they headed back to Glasgow with all three points after beating Kilmarnock on a freezing night in Ayrshire.

Stuart Armstrong’s solitary strike a minute before half-time proved enough to give the Celts their ninth domestic win on the bounce, coupled with a seventh consecutive clean sheet, and after having spent the past two weeks largely apart, the manager hailed his team for their “brilliant” victory.

“The frist-half we played very well,” he said. “We had a couple of mistakes in our build up play but sometimes you’ll have that whenever you’re wanting to build the game but in the main I thought we were slick, our movement was good and we had good patience.

“We created chances and I thought we looked really exciting when we were going forward. We scored a goal towards the end of the first-half and it was a very good finish.

“Second-half, give Kilmarnock credit, they came out to throw everything at it and Lee’s team did him very proud in the second-half. We didn’t have as many sequences of possession or passing and it led to us playing a little bit on the counter-attack.

“We had chances to finish the game but couldn’t quite get the pass to make the finish so when it’s like that towards the end of the game and you’ve got the direct ball into the box, you never know how it drops, but we can see the solidity in the team, how we’ve been building that defensive philosophy.

“In the end, after a two week break, having had to change around the team, playing on an Astroturf pitch, it was a brilliant result for us.”

Celtic had 14 players away on international duty during the recent break, around half the squad, and some of them returned carrying knocks, with Leigh Griffiths left out due to tightness in his hamstring.

The manager decided to field just four of his international Celts in tonight’s game, while also bringing in Dedryck Boyata for his first game since the Scottish Cup quarter-final in April.

The Belgian centre-half had a few slack passes and clearances in the first-half but Brendan Rodgers was sympathetic to the defender’s lack of first-team action this season, and praised the his overall contribution.

The Irishman also highlighted the performance of Callum McGregor, who played in an unfamiliar role at left-back and excelled under pressure.

Tonight’s win now puts Celtic 13 points clear of their closest rivals in the league ahead of the weekend’s fixtures and while the boss of the Bhoys emphasised how early it still is in the season, he acknowledge how important wins such as tonight’s could prove to be in the grand scale of the quest for the title.

“It’s very early," he added. "It’s only 12 games but nights like this are very important and certainly can contribute. It was a great win for us.

“It’s nice like this, coming away where it’s absolutely freezing and we had to dig in towards the end. It’s a great win and a great feeling to win after not being together for two weeks.”
