Cheaper, great food, more beautiful and less sleazy. Much more fascinating history, plus less veneration for, and hysteria over, a dead king.

Had my first teaching inspection today and it went reasonably well. Was dreading it so it's a huge weight off the shoulders.

Bangkok to start, not sure where after that. Want to go to Pattaya and Ko Samui. Don't go til February so still plenty time to decide. Any recommendations? Nice, 4 of my mates are away over for Xmas and new year too.

Pattaya is a two hour taxi away from Bangkok, will only cost you about £20 so not the end of the world if you go and don't fancy it, just nip back to Bangkok

Pattaya is ok, I'm spending new year there even though I rather would go somewhere else as I wasn't too keen on Pattaya when I was there in April but trying a different part of town this time.

Koh samui is fantastic, total paradise tbh I could live there easy, it's an hours flight if that from bkk but bkk airlines have that route on lockdown so it's £200 flights for foreigners.

Plus you can jump over to the full moon party in a speed boat etc

Edit: I say Pattaya is ok but I'll love it when I'm there, total sleaze fest so it is :56:

They would have to be good looking because wearing sunglasses in November is an instantly stupid look.

Aye I've seen a few videos of Pattaya, I reckon I'll enjoy it there too

    £200 seems step!

Any other places you recommend? Hoping to do a bit island hopping.
