Aye, was always a kind of European thing. Stopped after defensive midfielders became more prevelaint.

1 more quality striker and a left winger and they would have it :smiley-laughing002: don't think there has even been a squad with so many top quality players in it at one time

Again, you'd say depth is probably 2 equal quality players and a good 3rd option there? Look at positions like being an anchor man, they don't have that.

    * even with a keeper you can have a keeper then you can have a sweeper keeper like Manuel Neuer.

Mixed feelings with him, yes he runs a tight ship but because of that he has held us back for years with no pushing the boat out.

What I mean with that is getting a manager like Rodgers in before. I seem to remember people saying oh we canny get a good manager now ect and just took the cheap option and said thank you.

We should have been light years a head by now and he has got it right with Rodgers. There will come a time when he needs backed with money and we will see if he gets it.

Again we have spent next to nothing this summer with players going out and done some fantastic deals let's see if we can push on next season when we need to strengthen the side and what will be available for Rodgers.

People seem to forget sometimes the manager or players are the best we could find at the time......we have to get rid of this mind set that there is a queue from here to china wanting to talk over broken glass to be here.
Money nearly always wins and talk is cheap.

From what Ive heard Desmond had enough of Lawwell's influence in certain matters, he then set about sorting the mess we were then left in.

I agree but the decision to reign in spending and gradually weaken the team because rangers werent around was up to Lawwell.

In 2014/15 celtic sold £10m of players and bought £3.8m. In 2015/6 they sold £14.5m of talent and spent £3.5m. Even this season so far the net spend is only +£3m. Lawwell got away with this because there was no domestic challenge but it had a terrible impact on celtics european standing.

    100%.

Fair too many lead a life without thinking for themselves and that we can't spend the money we earn.

The Board could come out tomorrow and go 'That isn't Rodgers we have got its someone else' although it is him majority would still believe Pistol '*' Lawwell.

Your really think DD is paying someone nearly a million a year for them to make a mess and decided its time to step in and sort out a manager and does not sack the guy on 1 million a year.........really......you do not become a billionaire by putting up with that.

Its a joke on here at times....ANYTHING with an irish connection that's good....DD the hero....ANYTHING bad at the club is PL the *.

I think its not unrealistic to say DD and PL have a hand in everything that goes on at the club and no individual gets all the credit or all the blame....or maybe that's just me.

Well that has come from various good sources including Matt McGlone of the Alternative View, now seeing as he is an ex employee and still has various connections at the club, I am inclined to believe him before you or me on some forum, and the only thing embarrassing is your defence of Lawwell.
