It would be kinda cool to see Stevie G playing for Celtic but it's not exactly a signing for the future is it? It's a short term solution and we don't need short term solutions when we're all but out of Europe and have the league won already.

Another Victor Wanyama type signing would be preferable to signing Gerrard.

He would fit the bill for this 'quarterback midfielder' Rodgers speaks about

    Aye I'm sure that's the reason. :giggle1:

    What about as a coach?

To coach our kids? No problem. Maybe even the first team.

But I'm a bit of a romantic and old fashioned I suppose - would rather see a kid from the East End or Coatbridge or any area where traditionally Celtic fans come and play for the club who will their heart out whilst we look to the future than become a retirement home. Kolo Toure is our seasoned pro, we don't need another.

You can never have enough people like that at the club. Raises our profile if nothing else.

Better teams than us have used the loan facility to bring experienced players home from America for the winter.

I'd still be all for this, really.

You could see the impact Toure had in the early part of this season, and Gerrard could have a similar role here.

Could Steven Gerrard improve this team? Yes. He also provides leadership qualities and can be a bit of an inspiration for young players in his position, in terms of showing them what it takes to reach the top.

It'd be great to see him at Celtic, but is he what we need? Not so sure.

    Would rather Ki back.

We don't really need gerrard for the last 4 months of the season. We're absolutely dominating domestically and we'll be out of Europe by then.
