What this result shows us about this "gap" is that even when we aren't at our best for 80 minutes our last 10 minutes when we turn it on is something they can not handle one single bit.

Always sweet to score a late winner even better when it's against Rangers

    One going on six.

Totally dominated, outplayed, outfought, outclassed both on and off the park.

I love that we scored when they were in the middle of their disturbing child abuse fascination.

That really was another hammering. The score line doesn't do the gap in quality and performance justice. Their keeper made a few great saves and the disallowed goal was farcical.

On a side note, was the huns prematch tifo supposed to be representation of their club being on a life support machine? :56:

Gutted for my mate, he had £5 on Sviatchenko first goal scorer at 40/1.

armstrongs got to be close to nudging bitton out the side his work rate and energy is so much better and he links with the front better

bitton was highly thought of before he came to us he played trial games for arsenal and was linked to some big clubs but in the end they backed out,
i think we see why, he slows the game down to his pace, he doesn't want to play fast or output his all energy wise, he wants to stroll through all games when at times we must roll up our sleeves and get stuck in
there's games where that kind of player is good to have but not in the big games where we need energy

How did everyone rate the team?

Gordon - 6 - did not have much to do although was quick off his line but his distribution needs improving.

Lustig - 7 - Decent down that right hand side and as a RWB could be even better, its a shame Forrest's poor performance did not provide him with more of an outlet on the overlap

Jozo - 8 (MOM) - Extremely assured performance at centre half. Plays out from the back very well but also strong and mobile. Encouraging performance, good to know he can compete with Kolo. Partners up well with Big Erik.

Erik - 8 - Seems to partner and complement Jozo well and was extremely unlucky NOT to be given what I thought was a fair goal.

KT - 7 - Tried his best and had some good spots but Tavinier and Hodson tried to stifle and frustrate him but he kept going to the last. Its a shame that the player playing in front of him is a lot more narrow.

Broonie - 7 - Such a big game player. His positional awareness and desire are excellent. Gave the back four some confidence by protecting the space between midfield and defence very well. I wish sometimes he'd be allowed to press rather than sit and protect more, as he could be an asset going forward.

Biton - 5 - As I said to @Swervedancer you can tell with this lad there is a player in there, but he seems to do anything for an easy life. The game passed him by and by half time I actually had forgotten he was on the pitch.

Forrest - 6 - Provided no reason today despite the much heralded attributes he had as to why he should be on the pitch instead of a talented Man City protege we are probably paying bucket loads for in loan fees and wages. Every time he tried to make an impression he gave the ball away or became unstuck.

Sinclair - 7 - I genuinely cannot decide if the left hand side is his thing, but he's always a threat and nearly scored (was unlucky not to) with a beauty of a free kick. We keep mentioning this but he is poor with his back to goal and needs to drift out wide rather than coming in side more. All in all, decent game.

Rogic - 6 - I can see @Minty and @Sean Daleer point about his tenancity and propensity to turn players on a six pence and other posters who've discussed BMG showing him respect by marking him with two players. However today he mostly got swallowed up or could not find his passing/shooting range. For me where he was playing could be filled by a false 9 which LG would suit rather than an AMC.

Dembele - 8- Drifts in and out of games and possibly has that Andy Cole Syndrome of needing a few chances before he slots 1 but the lad is a complete snip at 500k and obviously has an eye for goal and a sense of being a fox in the box.

    Subs

Griff 7 - Done what he was asked to do - harry the Rangers defence and link up with Dembele. As the manager said his assist shows what an intelligent and selfless team player he is.

Armstrong 8- Strong candidate to replace Biton in midfield, far more direct and eager about the pitch which complements Brown better, passes the ball about better too which suits our style.

The Manager - Brendan Rodgers prepared the team well - we where set out well enough and obviously had a drive to get into the 1st final of hopefully a 3 legged treble this season. We seemed composed and he made the right changes at the right times which changed the game. Also our shape seemed solid and we rarely looked like giving a goal away.:brendy:

All in all, happy with the result and to be in the final :shamrock:

Aye it's hard to disagree though, couple of times he slowed the game down compared to Armstrong who was trying to move forward with pace. It was a great substitution and even though I've been a critic of Armstrong too I think he's earned a start now.

Used to love big Nir too, it feels very disappointing criticising him.

Was like night and day when Armstrong came on. He was industrious, positive and direct.

The game just passes Bitton by, not nearly good enough.

I don't think Armstrong is the long term solution though.
