Just 1 more vote to go...

In the meantime, before there was Helmet or Rollins Band there was, (and still is) The Mark of Cain...

  3. Swervedancer Guest

Just had to have a wee read on what the Mark of Cain meant. My favourite line is Cain murdering Abel but lying about it to *. Can just imagine *'s expression :43: Mind you no wonder he looked confused, his punishment for Cain murdering Abel was putting a mark on Cain to warn anyone who harmed him they would be avenged sevenfold. I wonder if that is where that band got their name from?

    Both great tunes Taz :50:

Quite mental how many of my favourite bands are Australian, Cog, Caligula's Horse, The Butterfly Effect, Dead Letter Circus, Floating ME and Ne Obliviscaris.

    So many good proggy bands.

Tied for second on 24 points were...

But with AC/DC claiming 3 '1' votes, they are officially second, and Pendulum third here.

Which leaves Crowded House and Silverchair.

    With a score of

    33 - 35

The last act through to the next Round is...

Which means that Crowded House (Sean Daleer) has been knocked out. Yet another early casualty and premature exit for a big name act.

    Group B Results

Topping Group B on 22 points was...

Narrowly edging out by 1 point, the Group Runner Up...

    23 points.

The third act safely through, on 28 points was

And they were just one point ahead of the 4th placed finisher...

Which means it is the end of the line for Karnivool (Tulf), on a score of 33, which in the other group would have been enough to stay safe. Turns and round-arounds, folks. And considering each of the 5 songs claimed at least 1 '1' vote, hiighlights jst how wel recieved this Groioup was overall.

Unlucky Sean and Tulf, good bands too but serious competition it's hard to predict anything. I especially liked hearing Karnivool as I'd never heard of them before.

Thanks for the results Taz as always :50:

In recognition of the fallen, and thought Crwoded House were going to be a real contender in this, the Finn brothers and Paul Hestor could quite easily have been duelly represented in this competition, with Split Enz.

Same. They were new to me also, so was a good introduction to this act. :50:
