Bitton is not the answer unless the question is name a pish overated cdm.

not good enough at this level, creates defensive problems for us. Lately all he does is hold the ball, lose it and run in reverse chasing who he lost it to about 5 yards behind them.

he had been improving in spl but so poor at this level almost a man down

bitton is the whipping bhoy for a good reason, just like forrest was.

if he recovers form and stops costing us goals the the opinions will change , untill then he is a donkey

Well of course it's a bit extreme to suggest if we replaced Bitton we'd be on the same level as BMG. Maybe if we replaced him with Iniesta. Bitton does deserve criticism for tonight's game though as he was sloppy in the centre of the field and lost the ball in dangerous areas a couple of times leading to them attacking. He didn't seem to have any influence going forward either. I guess we expect better from him because we know what he is capable of. It was no surprise when he got subbed.

Other players do get criticised though, think about Forrest or Broony second half of last season. Johansen, Gordon, Armstrong, GMS, McGregor have all received bad reviews when we've not been playing well.

What is this 'level' you're speaking of? Are Man City not at this level, if not a level above? Bitton more than handled himself against them.

Thought he was really bad, so many times he got the ball and ruined moves with how slow he does things, I think another proper CM should be our first priority in January. If you get that you've got a very good starting 11.

Bitton played poorly and was slow .. and that is a big problem.

I understand that his style can make him look a bit laid back etc
but i'm talking about his all round commitment. I 'feel' he slows us down
but take nothing away from the Germans..they ran the midfield for 90%
    of the game

Jan sales cant come quick enough.. we need more ooomph in the middle

Central midfield was always going to be our Achilles heel thus season. Lack strength and pace

He's a man down. Thought McGregor was far better than him when he came on.

Borussia ran the midfield because he was *. It was clear that Brown was struggling to keep the midfield together, Borussia had superior energy levels. When McGregor came out he provided that energy and matched Boruusia in the middle of the park. They were just running through bitton

The frustrating thing is I really think if we had pushed the boat for a decent central midfielder in August, we'd be doing better in the group.

Probably would have managed the 3 points against City and who knows what could have happened last night.

This campaign will show the manager what needs done for next season. No chance can we end up in a group as hard again. Replace Bitton with a player up a level must be priority.

Utter nonsense Bitton played a major role in two of the goals scored against Man City.

Kolo Toure as much as I love the big man caused the Man City third goal (Nolito) and the two BMGB goals.

The majority of the blame for why we didn't take full points against Man City and at least a point off the Germans lies with Kolo.

But Bitton is the whipping bhoy of the support so let's get back to slating him and forgetting his past performances.

What part of my post was utter nonsense?

Also, I did actually think he played OK against City, but I wouldn't consider his roles in either goals you're talking about "major". He didn't assist or score either of them.

Bitton once again showed me how pointless he is in our team. Folk who believe he was good against Man City watched a different game to me. He helped out in one of the goals by getting extremly lucky the city boy dived in. His first touch was abysmal and didn't mean to go past him.

He slows all our play down & makes stranger decisions than Donald Trumps presidential campaign.

We need to replace Bitton in the winter window, keep him in the squad but simply not good enough to be starting time and time again.

I agree with your general point about Bitton but his nutmeg and pass against City was key in leading to one of our goals if I remember correctly?

When he took that free kick in the first half that went just wide to the left the look on his face told a story, looked as if he was * himself.

Not good enough for a Celtic player at CP. I'd take McGregor over him any day.
