    * McGee, could you explain this to me,
apart from his goal, you think he played well?
or because he scored his contribution was enough for you?
In my opinion he played terrible.

pre-Xmas Donati was crap and Hartley was generally excellent. In the last 4 or 5 weeks Donati has finally adapted. Hartley still came in and looked better than him a few weeks back but Donati has got better with every game recently and I think in the last game or two Donati has for the first time matched Hartleys defensive skills and he has a better range of passing than Hartley so I would give Donati the nod.

I think WGS was faced with wanting one holding midfielder and one box to box v Barca and he felt he had to play Robson because he is our only box to box player other than Brown. I am sure WGS had problems choosing the holder and it may have been a coin toss. I was surprised because I thought we would just go for both of them for defensive reasons but it is also true that both together hasnt worked great in the past.

I think its great having two in-form holding midfielders alternating for the spot. If Donati doesnt relish the competition he is a bit of a *. If he is really homesick then you cant blame a man for that. I hope he stays because he is really begining to adapt and for the first time really looks a player. BTW, are contracts worth nothing these days??

guys of all nationalities wear the celtic top as such i support them all, race creed or religion dont give a flying *
if someone isnt doing it kick there * if they are well great
going to the games does not just make you a tim, your born with it,im lucky enough to be a season ticket holder, sometimes not so lucky lol, but if i couldnt get to the games and could only watch it on tv or comp does that make me less of a tim?
saying that iontach--- simply the best???????

    "Simply the best "????

    Nice choice of phrase.............NOT ! :47:

On the subject of Donati, if he leaves its no big deal, we need consistency. I thought his early season partnership with Brown looked really promising, but now I just feel a little disappointed. I expected more.

This is another bitter thread where folk are falling out who are really on the same side (we are all celtic and proud wherever we are from). To be honest everyone is a little bit right and nonone is totally wrong.

    1. People do like seeing fans come through as players. That means these favoured sons tend to be Scots or Irish but its not nationalism.

    2. Fans do tend to prefer a signing smelling of ambre solaire with a fancy name. Thats also fair enough because we dont produce the guys with the balls skills. Scots signng tend to be less enthused about because they are not ball players. We need the skilled foreigners.

But I will say this, a core of diehard fans-become-players BLENDED WITH a core of ball players from wherever is a very good combination of heart and technique in the SPL. I think we are not far of that blend and glory is around the corner. Hail Hail.

I actually feel sorry for Donati, he looked a really impressive attacking midfielder good composure in box etc and WGS has spent most of the season turning him into a Defensive Midfielder. He had a MOM performance against Hearts last wk then dropped for somebody whos made 0 starts for Celtic. Ridiculous decision. On the subject of Robson i thought his workrate in Midfield was shocking against Barca he didnt make an attempt to mark at all.

Was only weeks ago he was loving it here, I remember him coming out and saying that he goes home and checks out youtube most days, he loves the vids of the fans singing his name.

i used to think e was an attacking midfielder but i just checked his stats and he's only scored 13 goals in his career so maybe he was a defensive midfielder. most of the goals he's scored have ben screamers though

he was a defensive midfielder, his average goal tally before he came wa about a goal a season.

i personally think donati is a good player, he does give the ball away a bit much but i think hes really skillful and he deffo should have pld against barca from the start,

Donati will be going nowhere guys, think he will turn into a very important player for us so unless crazy money gets offered then he will still be with us next season.

Had to laugh at the back page of the News of the World the day, didn't get to read the rest of the article only what was on the back, but i went away thinking '* Donati must be wanting out asap', then come on here to see that it's not like that at all, in fact he's happy at Celtic. * incredible how these complete * holes get away with writing pish like this. :47:

Massimo is the best midfielder we have when he has the ball at his feet. However without it he is not an afective player.

To me he would be no great loss if he moved on but that would also IMO go for the rest of the squad Boruc,Mcgeady and maybe skippy a side. Nothing to do with his or their nationality just purely judged on their abilities or merits as a footballer exactly how they should be judged IMO.

In centre mid i think dontai will be are best there next season if he stays
as for being dropped for robson who scored a goal with his 1st touch and done pretty much noting then, you would feel bad
agaisnt barca robson scored a gaol and thats it. I still dont no if he cant cut it with us even though he scored 2 goals
