Similar to Oisin, zero expectations about getting a result. I just want a spirited and respectable result and performance.

I am usually pessimistic in these ties but today i cant help feeling we are going to win, so put my money where my heart is, celtic to win 2-1, Dembele to score first.

    10/1 Dembele to score first
    28/1 Celtic 2-1 win
    195/1 scorecast

2.5k back if it comes off. COYBIG

I see it differently. I think he is saying if they get room to play 100% they will beat us. Its up to us to make sure they don't get a chance to play to their best. If we can get into them early doors, be aggressive, hunt in packs then they wont be able to play at 100% and we can benefit. Sit off like we did against Barca and its over before it starts.

Martin O'Neill says things similar to that all the time. It's taking the pressure off his players and lowering expectations to a reasonable level.

I'm am anticipating this game more than excited. I am not expecting too much. We are still building. But we are at Paradise and our home is our fortress. COYBIG.

The expectations ARE at a reasonable level = very low
How much lower can they be?
We are 9/1 at home with some bookies.

Instilling true belief that we can beat this mob is more likely to fire up our players rather than hypothetically conceding defeat on a television interview.

Just don't wanna see too much respect shown to Man City. I think that was our downfall against Barca! Aye - some great players both city and Barca have but at the end of the day if Celtic can give 100% and keep mistakes to a minimum I would be happy despite any scoreline.

I think we're either going to win or get pumped.

I've seen plenty of City games that are pretty even until Aguero wins the game singlehandedly.

Hopefully he has an off-night tonight.

Think it was the Beer Sheva game where as the players walked on this pitch there was a very loud rendition of "Get intae em" would love to hear that again tonight but even louder

Rodgers does have a tendency to start arselicking the opponents in press conferences. He is still trying to remain 'friendly' with the English media.

I want to see us get stuck in a bit more. We cannot concede early otherwise the crowd will go, get a tackle in early on or a chance to build some momentum and stop them having it all their own way.

+1 Give everything and play to full potential, can't ask any more and make the supporters proud regardless of the result.

It's not taking pressure off the players at all, in fact I'd argue the opposite.

He's basically telling our players even if you's all play at 100% and have the best game of each of your lives individually then it still won't matter if Man City bring their A game as we'll still lose. So basically our players now know that even if they are all at the top of their game we will still most likely lose.

    * poor management there's no argument against that imo. Shows Rodgers lack of confidence in the squad to deliver a result against Man City.

do you seriously think there's any chance of an un-spirited performance at home in the CL against these *??

we might get beat tonight but there won't be one celtic player who doesn't give their all, anyone who thinks otherwise is mental.

nothing wrong with BR showing other teams some respect....look how that * across the city talks and the mess he is in with the media.
BR will be saying one thing to the media and telling the players something different.
Last thing we need is to be putting teams and players backs up and making them raise their game against us.
