Hope we get some hard but fair early tackles in tonight early on so they know they are in a game.

Can always remember Big Bobo going right through scholes early doors vs them and he barely kicked a ball afterwards, )3 didn't want to know. We have to get in their faces early.

I agree about getting stuck in to them, but with an Italian referee in charge, I fear any wee tap and these guys will roll around like they have been shot!

This would stop us playing our natural aggressive, but fair style

Trick is the early doors part, think Robson v Dailly.

Smash someone early enough and the ref is at his most lenient. Doesn't have to be a dirty tackle but we need to let them know we're there.

That's what Rodgers is getting at about being too passive in Barca.

Really hope we are aggressive from the start. Needless to say but it was disappointing how passive we were against Barca and I'm a bit worried the approach we take to these games at times. Hanging on every word of Pep/Messi/Suarez etc and essentially rolling out the red carpet for them isn't the kind of mentality we can approach these games with. They can, a came the lacks physicallity is one that suits them and we can't win.

Into them from the first whistle, show them they're not up here for an easy win.

A weaker celtic side drew against fenerbache. A team full of high earners who played in the premier league.

A draw will be huge and its achievable. We just need the get up their end of the park. Our strength is in our attack. Earned a penalty against barca and sinclaor put the ball in the net.

If we lose i hope we can get a goal, if we score two we will be the first team this season to do that.

Anyway finishing at half 4, getting the rebs cranked up and onto CP :shamrock::50:

Not made much posts on here, I usually just read along but decided to give a wee post. I think if we sit back defensive tonight its gonna be a boring 3-0 loss and another embarrassing European performance. Big teams love it when we sit back and invite them onto us. We play quality football and have a some real talent and we can play beautiful football and score goals. We also have quality pace but never show it because we sit back and defend. We're underestimated in Europe because of how we set up tactically in Europe and it has to stop especially at paradise. They have to believe in themselves and realise how good a team we are and dont fear these big money teams. Cause as last season showed down in England with Leicester, passion, belief, confidence and team chemistry can over power big money. We can do it tonight and i believe if we play to the level we can play and have been playing and play with confidence and play the Celtic way then tonight i see a win for us. Its Celtic Park, we have to make it a fortress again. Tonight i want a win and believe we can do it and the players and manager must believe that too because we are good enough. I'd stick to a 442 or something along they lines, Griffiths and Dembele both up front and Brown and Rogic in the middle. Gordon to start in goals too as i just don't have confidence with that De Vries, hasn't showed anything but faults. We can match them for pace on the attack and we have to go for it and don't be scared. Lets do this Celtic! Lets get 3 points and show them English and the rest of Europe how good we are and show once again how special Celtic Park is.

Problem with playing a Pep team is actually getting the ball to have a go. Same with Barca, we need to be direct with the possesion we get, get enough of the ball to make them nervous about their defence.

Really looking forward to seeing how we adapt after the other weeks tanking. Brendans teams have always leaked goals, if we can shut up shop at the back while playing to our strengths going forward, I think we can steal a result.

My head says City, my heart obviously says Celtic.

They are on fire though at the moment. As said before need to be a good bit more in their faces than the Barca respect show we had the other week.

Come on Celtic, going for a 2-1 tonight, Dembele and Sinclair scoring for us and Aguero to get theirs.

Just watching Brendan on SSN just now, he looks as if he's consigned to a defeat already. He's always a bit quiet on his press conferences but something just seemed off about him here.

I know a few * dying with the flu just now, myself included so maybe that's what it is :smiley-laughing002:

You can get 9/1 on a Celtic win. Not very often we see odds that high for a home win.

His comment about if they bring their A game and we brings ours they win wasn't very clever imo.

That's hardly instilling confidence into our side pre-match.

Should just be telling our players look at our past results here in the CL and use that as motivation and inspiration going into this game tonight.

Anyway I'm as much a realist as you'll find on here in regards to our squad and what I think will happen tonight.

But I honestly believe we can get a result, In a weird way I'm actually more confident of getting a result tonight after the run they've been on. Because this run most certainly won't last forever and it's going to end sooner or later so why not tonight? I was reading no side since Tottenham in the 50s or 60s has went an 11 game winning run or more in England, Man City are currently on 10. Sometimes records like that are very, very difficult to break and teams fall at the final hurdle, which Man City would need to do tonight.

As much as I'm choking for a win against this mob, I'm going to go for a hard fought 1-1. We're going to be dominated in the main but we will get chances and need to take them when they come.

I never seen it, but that's awful if he said that.
Could you EVER even imagine MON or even Strachan saying that?

I'm hoping for a spirited fight, that's it. Zero expectations about getting a result.
