How great would us winning with Sinclair scoring the winner feel.

Going to be a tough night but I'm not letting the Barca game lower my optimism.

Cannot honestly see any kind of result. If everything falls our way, with a bit of Park the bus, i can possibly see a draw........but i also dont really see a mauling.

City by 2 is my half arsed prediction.

I will be there at the game tomorrow night supporting Celtic as I have done for the past 25+ years at home in Europe. I have seen us beat better teams than us on paper countless times. I'm going to put my head on the chopping block right now and say that I think we will surprise a few people tomorrow night... not me however!

I do not get this severely awestruck assessment of our opponents, the general feeling of pessimism or the question of our right to be at the top table as an inferior or so called poor neighbour to all these major spending clubs and better leagues. This is an impression which is widely shared among most of the Scottish/English media and creeping into some sections of our own support. Most of this has exploded since the groups were drawn and especially after the 7-0 Barcelona game. Yes some of it is just being a realist in terms of where we are right now in money and I appreciate the argument, but I am basing my overall opinion upon our long standing European home record and traditions which have stood the test of time for decades.

NEVER should Celtic ever be be scared of having our * handed to us at Celtic Park... not by anyone. The stats just don't back it up and never will, regardless of who we play and what their perceived level of superiority over us is. Referring to our most recent record specifically in the Champions league since it's inception... we have one of the best and most respected records of any club in Europe. A record that some clubs with far more might than us would be proud to have! We have lost 3 in 24 games and two of those in recent transitional years. Prior to that it was 1 in 21 games. It really speaks for itself. I think the players comments this week show that they let themselves down in the Nou Camp by standing back in awe and I fully expect Man City to know they are in a game tomorrow night. I predict this to continue in the remaining home games also... away is another discussion altogether. There is no reason why we shouldn't be looking to remain unbeaten in these three games at home.

I'm fed up hearing this anxious 4-1, 5-1, 5-0, 6-0 or 7-0 again pish... where the * is the evidence for it? absolutely nowhere. Check the list of teams we have played and results, along with some of the opponents had in comparison to what players we had... it is no different now. Too much is being made of this financial gulf... yes it is there but we are Celtic and we lie down to nobody at home. I fully expect us to be battling, aggressive and show our qualities. At least a draw for me but I think 2-1 will be the score.

I admire your optimism, but i try and view things objectively. If i was a fan of neither club, for me we would be 20/1 to win, minimum. Just my view obviously. I dont think we will get mauled however. i think they will happily take a 2 goal lead....make their subs and * off with the 3 points.

I think the 'anxiousness' is coming from people not entirely trusting our defence or ability to keep sides out.

That is certainly why I am not confident. It isn't like under Strachan or O'Neil when we were pretty hardy and had the ability to keep sides out. We have a different style now and we are yet to see if this side is able to grind out results against far superior sides. The fortress reputation of CP has kind of disappeared slightly in the past couple years as well.

Hopefully tomorrow is the start, mind.

My opinion is not based around optimism, it's based upon facts and records...

We are 10-1 to win. I will be sticking £100 on that, ridiculous odds for us at home!

Yes i realise that mate, but as a gambler, i can only tell you that for me, stats are just that, stats....they generally mean nothing in terms of the future no matter how they are twisted. They can help to analyse things etc, but no matter how many stats are available to the man on the street......9 out of 10 of us will lose our coupon on Saturday.

To take your reasoning further...they have won 10 straight games, with aplomb. We struggled to beat a team from Gibraltar, from Israel and from Kazakhstan.

That all said.......i hope to * it is me with egg on my face for my post tomorrow.

I'll view it as a Celtic fan.

We are going to win tomorrow night.

Celtic Park does strange things to people.

Went on to bluemoon the main man city forum to see what their thoughts on us as opponents were , i honestly hope the city players have the same outlook as their crappy fans !! It was 33 pages of utter pish with all bar a couple of posters giving us absolutely no respect . With our home record in the group stages the least we deserve is to be taken seriously but not a bit of it !! As has been mentioned better teams than this lot have came and left without 3pts so lets get intae the * ...Dont concede early doors and let the fans build up the pressure, hopefully as has happened on many a european night at celtic park we can rise to the occasion ....intae them celtic
