No way this current City side is better than the Milan side we faced.

2007 Kaka was the best player on the planet at the time for me, City don't have a player near the level he was at then. Aguero is closest. In fact, not just for me as he was voted World player of the year in 2007, forgot that. Massimo Oddo and Daniele Bonera weren't world class but they were still seasoned Italian internationals who were part of the glory era for Serie A.

This City side has proved nothing yet.

Anyway, this is a tough game and I'd be surprised if we got anything from it. Yet to be convinced that we can get back to being able to beat near enough anyone at CP. We have lost to some average sides there lately, despite times seemingly changing.

I don't understand it, your right. An ageing Zabaleta (who I really rated by the way, was), Stones, Clichy, Caballero, Navas, Fernandinho aren't top class player's.... Sorry to burst your bubble..

Aye because McGeady was pure * wasn't he

That Milan side were European conquerors, world cup winners in it, Euro winner's before or after. Man City are nowhere near that calibre and have had no impact in Europe whatsoever. Hundred's and hundred's of millions haven't changed that, so maybe a brilliant manager may....one day..

No, it couldn't be more representative.

We are playing a home Champions League Group game on Wednesday, we've played 24 of those and lost 3. It couldn't be any more specific.

The entire reason I know the stat is because Opta Celtic tweeted it, not because it's arbitrary but because it's the fact that means the most in context.

That was some United team we beat. I'd consider that side significantly stronger than the City team we are playing on Wednesday. Not that that means a whole lot.

Brilliant team in that era. Sonny Anderson as well I think was in that side if I remember right..

Dhorasoo is such an underrated player, that get's overshadowed by how quality Juninho was (those goals)..

Not a weak link in sight..

    10 year ago side's always had weak link's :56:

    Yes.

You're putting this City team above a European Cup winning Milan side, who were finalists 05, semi finalists 06 and winners 07, with pretty much the same squad of players.

Anderson went to Villareal that season mate and then played against us in the Quarters, incidently.

Him and Elber were two cracking strikers. Kind of players that were kicking around plenty of clubs at that time, seemed to be such a great era. Lots of legends still kicking about from the 90's in their prime.

Ah right. Aye dangerous as * player's..

Just done a quick Google and it's the Lyon away game where Henrik broke his leg that I remember Anderson terrorising us :50:

Was out there for it. Nightmare trip for obvious reason's..

Oh, I don't know. Anything more than 3-0 and I think it proves my assertion TBH. I genuinely can't see Strachan's team losing to that Milan side by more than 3 if the match were replayed tomorrow.

We beat Benfica twice as well who were a very decent team in the CL. On paper our team on both occasions should have lost but we didn't which shows how far our atmosphere can take us on these nights and how much it can inspire our players to new heights.

On both occasions we beat Benfica they had players like Angel Di Maria, Oscar Cardozo, Fabrizio Miccoli, Luisão, Rui Costa, Nuno Gomes, Cristian Rodríguez, Simão, Maximiliano Pereira and of course Freddy Adu.

Whilst we had guys like Evander Sno, Lee Naylor, Caldwell, McManus, Killen, Telfer, Kenny Miller all playing for us.
