    Nonsense.

Start to finish. They have tanned teams worth hundreds of millions. You could also flip your argument the other way around. How much did our side cost that beat them 2-1? Or Alaves' side?

We unfortunately caught them on a night they were seriously up for it and reeling from the weekend.

In regards to their debt levels, these sides can afford to run at that level due to the sponsorship money and the brand name. We can't.

One thing I would actually agree on from all that is that we should have spent some money on a good defensive midfielder.

Gamboa is substandard. After one game. Against the best club team of the last decade.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Just because there have been no huge transfer fees, doesn't mean Celtic haven't invested a * load this summer. Rodgers, Sinclair and Dembele will be on wages exceeding Brown's.

    Some truth in this.
With the money we have guaranteed coming into the bank, we should have signed a decent RB, goalkeeper and defensive midfielders (2).

Coming back to bite us on the * now.
And for Brendan to claim a 7-0 defeat is not embarrassing is just clearly wrong.
It is embarrassing, deeply embarrassing and it has rubbed off all the glitter already from beating Rangers.

Form me I think we should have just man marked, we done it before against Ronaldinho barca, Ronaldo man Utd and we never got a thumping like last night I'm not saying we would have won but to me it looked like the back 5 had there zoned areas and barca new exactly how to deal with it.

Nothing is coming to bite us in the *.

Were the Real Madrid forums talking about how * Modric, Ronaldo and Benzema were and they needed better when Barca took 6 off them?

Anyone trying to use last nights result as a stick to beat us with can crawl back under their rocks along with the Huns.

Scott Brown doesn't think getting beat by 7 is OK as well. Are u going to have a go at our captain as well?

The team kept their shape of 5 at the back and 4 in mid well they just couldn't react quick enough to the movement of the Barcelona players. The midfield have trouble tracking players off the ball this happens in domestic games as well. On to the next game in this group which will be hard to get points from, need to get results against munchengladbach to hopefully get 3rd place

this season were back at the big table for bad or worse were being talked about with elite teams once again. last night result was hard admittly but its also not unsurprising when you look at the teams.

if we can build on this and next away cl game improve it will eventuallybwork out. we need more games against bigger and better teams to raise our game. at celtic park i hope these players are looking to make a mends and try and restore some pride.

It's rubbed off * all glitter, and you know it!.

What are the h***s (snigger snigger) gonna slag us about, getting beat off Barca? Aye, good one :56:

Anytime I've thought about last night, I just remind myself of that big experienced dumpling Senderos getting rode all day, well for as long as it was allowed to go on :56:

We're what, 3 month's in to Brendan's tenure? Realise what we are, where we are and exactly what we were up against..

OK, it is what it is, a very poor result. No getting away from that.

But let's look at the circumstances. We're playing a Barcelona team that have just got a hounding off the press for losing at home to a newly promoted team, and are looking to get the media off their backs. They also have their attacking trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar who have made some of the best centre-backs in the world look stupid the past couple of years playing together for the first time this season. Remember, this is a team that can put 5, 6, 7 past most teams in their league very easily when they're on song.

We also had 3 days between the huns game, a massive derby which there was a lot of pressure to win and the players put a lot of effort in, and this game. Let's not also forget that if Dembele had scored the penalty it would have been 1-1, which changes the complexion of the game, we probably still would have lost but they could have been frustrated by that and we could have been motivated to make the game a lot tougher for them.

Yet now folk are saying De Vries, Gamboa etc are * and we need punted of Bitton and we need to change this and do that. Let's put it in perspective. Watch Messi's second goal again. That's the kind of football we're playing against. So many Celtic shirts and they couldn't do a thing. Sometime you've got to admit that a team with fantastic players that are having a great game are unplayable.

Yes, there were certain goals where we could have done better, players could have been tighter, the opposition could have been better marked etc. But Barca do this to teams regularly. We just need to keep our heads up and move on to City at CP where we always have a shot.

Shall we sack your pal Brendan already then? What'd you want, blood? 50 million stuck on the table? Mon back overlooking Brendan? Us to be world beaters straight away, or ever?

He tried something new, he said it himself and too many factors * us and we were royally spanked. No much would've made a difference anyway, we were getting done last night by whatever score..

This season in the group's is a learning curve for all at the club, with Celtic. Don't care who's been here before..

been reading a lot of the liverpool forums, seems rodgers achiles heel was his defensive setups, regardless, 7 is very poor, but look haven't been at this stage for a few years and we won't find our feet that quickly. Just have to pray the stars align for the Man City game.

The Barcelona front 3 is probably the best attack in the history of football, on their day they would do that to most teams on the planet.

Usually when they go 3 or 4 up they makes changes, for some reason last night they wanted to annihilate us.

:56: so much for being our catalan brothers in rebellion, Barcelona can go * themselves from now on, i hope they stay under Castilian rule for eternity

We lost three points and watched a display of near perfection from a squad that was built with 100s millions. The format setup with us in pot 4 is never gonna suit teams that struggle to make the CL every year. We will move on from this and learn. Europa league is where I see this squad learning European set ups. We will build on it and be more prepared as a squad for next year. Home domestics and qualification was the bench mark for Brendan this season.

    Thats a bullshit rule.
    * could do that in the final, not get sent off, save the penalty and win the cup.
    * UEFA.
