What can you say to that?

A complete skill show from a World Class side, to which we had simply no answer

Got to learn from it and do better throughout the rest of the campaign

Just shows how far behind Scotland is in relation to the big nations of Europe

In some ways, we were complicit in our own destruction

Countless seasons of processions to titles will only ultimately mean we are unprepared for contests like this.

We can only beat whose in front of us, but maybe there are things we can do to help the overall health and competitiveness of the League?

No, it really doesn't mate. Barca's handed out skelpings to Valencia, Real Madrid, Celta Vigo, Bayern Munich, Roma etc in recent seasons. Italy, Spain and Germany aren't leagues that are far behind. Barca are just that good, when they're on song, it's almost impossible to stop them.

I hate these * Barca. Sick of the basterding sight of drawing them in the Groups and that sickening feeling I got when Ian Rush the * pulled out our letter to go into Barca's group only reminded me why I had such a sickening feeling when we drew them.

Too many players last night left their men unchallenged and drifted away from them. You just can't do that against such a side and I hope to * Brendan is weeding out the lazy *. Gamboa and Brown were guilty of this, Brown had a decent game imo but for the first goal he just left Messi alone which is about the most criminal thing you can do in the professional game of football.

Still feel deflated as * from this result. Going to take a while to get over it. A win against Man City would go some way to doing that.

Trust you to have a go at arguably our best player last night.

    You're like a broken record.

It was Bitton that left Messi alone, Brown put pressure on the ball and Bitton strolled by and then never even attempted to get back to his man.

debatable about Brown.....he went to pressure the ball because of the space with long streak of pish anonymous as per....no win for broony on that one because if he hadn't * would have being all over him for not going out. guy can't do it all by himself. really felt for broony last night. our mom by a good bit followed by sinclair.

had that horrible feeling in my gut after that but not too bad today now.

I've drawn a line under it!!!!

We're a 'work in progress' and i would call that the end of phase 1

Phase 2 starts at the weekend and we will not face anything close to as tough as that (not even city down there) for the rest of the season. Looking at it like that i think we should be happy that we have a pretty good start under this regime.

    And while I'm at it.
I hope Brendan gave Dembele a verbal dressing down for that disgusting two step tango before taking the penalty.
Complete disrespect for such an important penalty kick.
It reminded me of Scott McDonald at his worse.

Aw, superb suggestion. Should be compulsory for Bhoys and Ghirls for the rest of the campaign due to it's qualities - It induces a trance-like state while providing pain relief, sedation, and memory loss.......Luv Google!

Agree with that, did feel at times like Broony was left to do it all by himself.

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Whilst I agree that the best way to take a pen is hard and fast right down the middle, we weren't complaining when he put away that pen against Astana, arguably an even bigger pressure moment in the dying seconds of a game.

It was saved and saved by a keeper who is making a name for himself as a bit of a penalty king. Dembele will come back strong. Had the baws to step out and speak to the press post match. Couldn't have been easy.
