The Champions League is all about the wonga now. It will only get worse with the new rules to come into force. Still, we might sneak a few points from the Germans. :smiley-laughing002:

As discussed I'd rather do the treble than give us all false hope (with this group) in this competition.

We made it too easy for them.

Tactics were off. The 5-4-1 did not work. The 4 were too narrow, which resulted in weakness on the flanks, notably the right. This also caused us too be less compact. Barca exploited this space to devastating effect.

Brown was outclassed bit at least he tried to compete. Biton was invisible. It is unfair to criticise the players, in the main, it was the tactics which caused that result. I can take 3 or 4 but not 7. That's unacceptable.

They would have got a massive boost when they saw Efe's name was not on the team sheet. Think we paid for that tonight.

Don't know what game you were watching. AFAIC, Brown's efforts (especially late) were the only reason we didn't set a CL record defeat tonight.

Maybe i am missing the irony, but with the greatest respect he could have turned up with his extended family standing on the goal line and we would still have been mauled

We have a professional manager in charge of the team who will be able to pick the Bhoys up. If you're gonna get pumped 7 - 0 then who better than Barcelona

Where is where we need to be in modern football though? Figthing for 3rd in the group and only loosing games like this 3-0? Demoralising to think the gap just keeps getting bigger as well. Not having a go or anything games like this just make me loose faith in where the sport is heading.

I'm not sure. My kopite mates always told me Brendan is crap in Europe - remember his stellar decision to 'rotate' top players including Gerrard vs Real Madrid?

Tonight we had a threadbare team out that at least in Europe I'm saddened to see Celtic field. A Notts Forrest player of the year in goal (!) and a West Brom reject against the flair, talent and guile of Barcelona.

We where humbled and humiliated. Some players completely froze. For reasons stated above, I am not surprised. Players not used to being in that situation and a manager who has questions marks on his ability to prepare a team for European football.

As discussed, if we can do the treble and forget about this competition, I will be happy. If we play like we did tonight, you can forget it.

I never get this great affinity with Barca *, they act cuntish at times on the park with us, and I don't mean just beating the * out of us, but diving around and facing upto our players at times too, which they don't with others.

I can't actually go them, I do prefer Real, but I know it sounds strange, it is actually boring as * playing them, I think our team make-up in recent years plays right into their hands which doesn't help, but whilst I can't really put a thumbs down to the CL, I'm bordering on if we knew we'd get them next year if we qualified, not sure if I could be arsed, lol.

Brown made the most passes for us tonight and done well considering, and got next to no support from Biton. Who would you rather in central mid? Rogic Biton in UCL? * that

I'm not even that disappointed, I'd already prepared for a defeat mentally. We were outclassed yes but all their goals were unstoppable. Barca on their day will do that to any team.
One positive to take out of it was Sinclair, he didnt look out of place. Got passed their defence on numerous occasions. Dembele made a bit of space for himself too and on another day he woulda put the penalty away.
We didn't break any records as barca put 8 past beer Sheva a few seasons ago.
We are lucky to be here this season and I'm forever thankful for that. We will learn from this amd improve.
    De vris looks questionable.
    We move on HH
