DDV should have saved at least 2 and could have moved from his 6 yard box in the game. he shat it to leave his 6 yard box numerous times. the scoreline reflects a poor night for the celtic team even though it was in Barcelona. DDV aint the answer for a goalkeeper in this team. Gordon will be sitting on that bench Gritting his teeth btw. Bailly would have done a better job. on to saturday to get a result now and dont let this get the better of us in the end. its all about trying to compete at that level. bread and butter for the weekend.. should take our frustrations out on Inverness.

 

We were well beaten by one of the tournament favourites on they're ground in our first match in the CL for three seasons. It was a hard watch but in the bigger scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

That is the hardest game we'll need to play this CL season even if we get to the final.

The next game against Man City at home is a lot more important. We should be aiming for around 4 points from our next to games and there's no reason that's not attainable. We were okay in the first half and then our heads went down. The rest of the game was write off. I take nothing from that game (apart from thinking De Vries is a bit *).

The irony of course is then we would violate FFP.

The reality is the financial gulf from TV contracts between Scotland and all the elite leagues in Europe. We make a big deal about getting £30mil for making CL but that's because it's more than we get from domestic TV contract in a whole season. Meanwhile the team that finishes 20th in La Liga still gets at least €60mil.

Celtic participating in the CL proper every year is the only thing that keeps us remotely in the same ballpark.
