    Possibly mate..

However Browns temperament and timing in the tackle at times makes him defensively flawed IMO..

    Maybe Ajer can develop quickly..

Why are people dissapointed in this transfer window. We came out of this window stronger than when we went into it. We have a fast dynamic team who will score loads of goals. We still need rid of a lot of players who are not required. So overall m delighted with this window.

Should I point out that Brendan wanted a creative midfielder and not a defensive midfielder. :smiley-laughing002:

The thing I'm even more disappointed about is selling Johansen and not buying anyone, ah well I guess the others will just have to step up.

This is something that concerns me aswell.

We apparently have this great scouting system with John Park and the likes yet in Brendan's tenure we haven't gone further afield than England for any of our transfers. Now, there's nothing wrong with that in itself, if the player is right and the deal is right. But there is stupid money being thrown about down there and it's not exactly the first place you'd go to find value for money hidden gems.

We have been told that the club have been looking at midfielders to bring in. This extensive scouting system which has saw young players come in from the likes of Holland, Belgium and Israel in the last few years who have gone on to be good players for us, yet they can't seem to find the right deal for us to bring in a solid defense minded midfielder anywhere in Europe.

So either it's a case of a) Brendan had certain players who he liked and wanted to sign in this first window such as Sinclair and Toure that he convinced the board to bring in and that's why we've just been signing from England or b) the scouts can't find the right players to bring in and so Brendan is seeking out players he's worked with before or knows in order to get new players. If it's the latter, then we should be worried.

I'm sure he targeted players in England because he knew he needed players who could hit the ground running.

He worked with Toure, Sinclair and De Vries before, and he must have a decent idea about Dembele and Gamboa.

Ultimately, he was right. I'm sure we'll revert to type now he has time to look at players and time to bed them in without the pressure.

Well if the interest was genuine in McCarthy he ticks both boxes..

Toure, De Vries and Sinclair were probably seen as no-brainers for Brendan because they've all done well under his management for previous clubs. Also with some of our recent signings before he came I wouldn't blame Brendan if he did trust the scouts.

I would say Rodgers took the job with the stipulation he brings in players he trusts in the 1st window. Its a good thing as people were convinced Deila was getting lumbered with Lawells signings. I would imagine when Rodgers gets to know the scouts more and gets over the 1st few months with men he trusts then we will go shopping in markets were the value is while hopefully still picking up a Dembele and Sinclair if possible.

In terms of looking at England I think it was purely down to him getting in players he knew about and could trust to throw right in.

Perhaps once he has a settled XI we will see him tweaking his transfer techniques. I really hope so because as we have seen it is rare to find value for money in England. Scott Sinclair deal now seems a bargain.

Aye watched it, chucked away a 3 goal lead untill we made changes. We are good at home with the fans behind us.

Away well you just have to look at this season..... what happens when not if Brown spends some time out because he does pick up injuries and Bitton who will have a spell when he goes missing? We are * then.

We are clearly lacking in that area we all * know it.

I think a lot depends on what Bitton we get this season. If we get the one like away in the San Siro against Inter and for large spells under Deila, then we will be fine. If we get the one that looks half arsed, then it's a different story. Bitton is a very good player on his day, and has shown in the past that he can make the step up in Europe for us. I would still have liked another central midfielder in, but it's not as bad as some are making out either.

Oh I just can't wait until we lose a match in the CL and this place is full of miserable moaning cockwombles who really can't understand the difference in quality between us and Barca/City.

It will be a right hoot.

Being good at home with the fans behind us will do me. Give me a home win and 2 home draws in the Cl this year and I will settle for that now. How many away points have we got since we first qualified for the Cl under MON?

I did say English players would be the simplest way to get into the Champions' League.

It worked and people are still complaining.

I've heard a lot of * on the Daily * video blog about us not getting any marquee signings. It's just a noise up.

Toure, Dembele and Sinclair aren't marquee signings apparently. Maybe it's the struggle to find anything negative to say.

Managers couldn't wait to line up and diss us, with Deila in charge.

Bringing Rodgers in, was that a marquee signing? What about his staff, were they?

The DR just want to play on fans fears more than being real.

We've already played a host of top teams, albeit in friendlies, pre-season, and we weren't far off the pace. Obviously when the big games count it's more serious, but we've nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I can almost imagine them taking a 360 degree about turn halfway through the season.

That's the only negative they've got to go on and it's something we're all aware of and repeating the fact doesn't change the fact.

We signed marquee signings for our level. Sure you can sit and dissect it but the truth is getting to the Champions' League gives us a warchest for next season, with a team in place who can potentially coast the qualifiers.

So aye, they've plenty to be afraid about because the treble this year is an absolute formality.
