Celtic's Efe Ambrose turned down a £300,000 move to Standard Liege.

We'll probably never be as attractive a proposition in the short term, in a stellar CL group and riding the hype of Rodgers coming. Missed opportunity in my opinion, can anyone see any further strengthening in January after an absolute pummelling in the CL, which is on the cards as the squad is pretty much what played in Israel.

Also, if Griffiths is injured or suspended, our option is a 21 year old in Dembele thru the middle. Unless you count Ciftci, but I don't.

League is a formality but Europe could be really, really hard to watch.

    Your ridiculous.

Most peopke weren't holding out for a 6 million 40k per week player like Hernanes, but by * I thought we would have spent some of the extra what £30 million income which is due.

We have even made a profit on player sales.

Unacceptable that we haven't spent any CL money.

Considering we qualified for the CL, if we don't sign a solid CM it is seriously disappointing. It is that obvious position really needed. Did well everywhere else tbh, especially RB and GK.

No players signed and Efe rejecting a move.

What a nightmare of a day.

Can we still take players on loan after the window?

Of course it matters how much we've spent because fans are investing their money in the club and want that investment to be put back in to the team. We are gonna get * humped if the midfielders we have don't drastically improve before the champions league campaign kicks off. We can't be as weak adn sloppy as we have been because Barca, Man City and probs Gladbach will have an absolute field day.

I hope something happens but it seems * dead to me.

I think our team is as strong as its been for quite some time. Johansen, Mulgrew and Allan, with all respect, are no loss. The midfield has been so bad that of our 26 competetive goals this season, the midfield has scored half of them. I think the balance of the midfield needs looked at. For me, Bitton upsets the dynamics in there, and he and Brown dont gel. Whether Rogers feels that McGregor or Armstrong are better options I dont know. The best players dont always make the best team. Rodgers knows this and has identified where we are weak. The centre back area, and subsequently the right back area. With Roberts, Sinclair and a resurgent Forrest , we have plenty of creativity in there. It wont be enough to get us to progress in the CL, but it will be enough for us to give a good show of things and hopefully battle for at least the Europa spot.

The football we have played this season has been as good as I have seen in some time. If Rodgers feels that he really needs a central midfielder then he will have pushed the board for one. And if he doesnt feel he needs one, then fine. I can happily live with it and enjoy the way things are just now.

we aint spent much at all...the sales of the players today covered most of the players brought in...maybe some more on wages...

Utterly * if this ends like this tbh....30 million plus in the bank

we need some players or we will get * mauled in the CL

Quite happy with the transfer window to be honest only thing I'm going to be gutted about is if we don't get a big defensive midfielder, really think we'll need that in Europe apart from that we should win the league no bother and the Rodgers has plenty of time to fully evaluate the squad and get his team ready for next seasons champions league.

    This really.

What's to say we will be in the CL group stages next season?

Its also worth remembering the changes to the CL qualifying which is going to make it even harder to get in with extra places to the top leagues.

The season and window to invest was NOW.

We could have theoretically bought 5 x 2 million players who were young and sold them for 5 x 10 million in a few seasons.
