    McCarthy coming here was always wishful thinking given his wage demands and transfer fee, hope we are pursuing more realistic options for the centre of midfield.

    Heard the name doing the rounds since yesterday. I think Marco Van Ginkel is a great shout for the central midfield role. I'd take him over McCarthy, less salary, still hasn't nailed down a Chelsea start in 4 seasons.

    Can play anywhere in midfield and does the holding role well.

    23 y/o on about 30k and has bags of potential.
