Pointing to a right back's goal tally immediately renders the opinion invalid :smiley-laughing002:

Sky Sports are saying he's in Glasgow for a medical.

Think his crossing might be suspect, don't see any clips on youtube of him making any, as long as he can get to the byeline and cut it back to the penalty spot that will do for me, Matthews used to create a lot of goals like that

Just hope this isn't the last signing.

He'll add to the good looks of the rest of the squad anyway

On the height issue, it shouldn't be forgotten that:

    1) Erik is 6ft 1 and aggressive in the air.
    2) Kolo's genuinely world-class athleticism allows him to jump like a gymnast, to the extent that I've never noticed he was beneath 6ft - especially when he gets up for a header. Like Erik, he's also a beast in the air and technically great with his head.
    3) Our two main back-up centre-backs are 6ft 1 and 6ft 5 respectively, and each young enough to improve their jumping and aggression.
    4) When he has his big-boy pants on, 6ft 5 Nir Biton can be a handful in the air in both boxes.

Aye definitely, be interesting to hear what Rodgers says if/once this deal is completed regarding anything else. A big * of a midfielder in and this has been one of the best windows in a long time, hopefully shift some deadwood too.

If we were being linked with this player right off the back of the last World Cup, most people in here would be creaming themselves

Two seasons in the EPL under a manager who was never going to play a type like him isn't what he should be judged on

Comments on social media from West Brom fans are very favourable. Seems to be a lot of them unhappy with the style of play they're watching and saying this guy would be one of the first names on the teamsheet if they played more offensively.

    I'm certain it won't be :50:

Deadline day deal is a cert.

Sorry no way is he a better option than lustig. There's more to football than running fast

Would be delighted with this. Really impressed at the World Cup and the style Costa Rica played isn't far from what we're aiming for. His pace, willingness to bomb forward and love for a tackle are great assets. Hopefully Brendan gets the best out of him. Right wing back in a 3-5-2 in Europe and right back in an offensive back 4 are definitely improved with this signing.

If Rodgers is building a counter attacking team for Europe, pace is going to be vital.

My TV must be broke as what I have saw recently we need people who can defend, or maybe I'm seeing ghost goals.

Leave the fast and attacking * to the Sinclair, Roberts, Forrest. Jesus wept.

Have you seen enough of Gamboa to write him off defensively already? The way I see it were going to concede goals in Europe anyway, the chances of actually scoring goals in Europe will be helped if we have more pace in the team especially from defensive areas. I think Rodgers is setting up a somewhat 5-3-2 for Europe with hopefully Gamboa and Tienrey as wing backs, leaving Toure, Sviatchenko and another centre half possibly Lustig which is enough definsively

Reading WBA forum, not great compliments, in fact could have been reading about Efe. Over last 2 years been regular with Costa Rica but not with WBA. Has speed but prone to making mistakes. Makes me think he's replacement for Janko and not Lustig or just Peter's classic at end of transfer window - bring someone/anyone in to keep fans quiet.

The Wba defence proves that, Lustig would walk into that team even with an injury.

I want people who can defend especially out wide as so far Janko and Tierney (who has had a stinker so far this season, but giving him.benefit of the doubt) haven't done it so far.

Take it you missed the games with the pacey Janko?

Seriously the pish people talk about pace, how about * just defending.
