You don't beat a Barca side with guys like Messi, Sanchez, Pedro, Villa, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta etc with * defenders.

If it wasn't for his lapses in concentration he'd be a good defender.

Aye and if my auntie had baws she'd be my uncle.

4 years ago. Kieran Tierney was a ball boy then.

A lot changes in 4 years.

Every single player played great that night even matthews at lb, does that mean we should have played matthews at LB all the time? Everything clicked that night and it was mostly down to forster anyways, why are you getting so hungup about a great result nearly 4 years ago when debating Efe? It's 2016 and he's shown to be pish and prone to many mistakes.

Why do people insist on derailing every thread with discussions about Efe Ambrose? :smiley-laughing002:

Pish, Gordon is hopeless at kicking the ball, saving penalties, his shot stopping has got A LOT poorer the last 18 months (Getting beat at near post etc). It's much more than just him flapping at set pieces.

Boyata is pish at almost everything at CB not just his passing, his awareness, his decision making, his clumsiness, his effort, desire and work rate, his motivation, his positioning, his marking at set pieces. His biggest strength is his heading which is not nearly enough.

    Two pish examples.

    So anyways De Vries....

anyone know the deal with his injury? Seemed perfectly chirpy in that interview and is meant to be challenging for a place on Weds but apparently got stretchered off in his final game for Forest.

Played brilliant in the away game 2-1 defeat as well which showed it was no fluke.

Anyway, I don't know why I'm getting into this.

Efe is a good defender but he will never be rid of his lapses of concentration sadly I feel. Which is why it is time he moves on to pastures new with his time being up. I will not accept his name being dragged through mud though when at the end of the day he has everything and all the other attributes you need to be a good defender.

If Gordon dealt with crosses better than he does he'd be a good 'keeper. Aye his kicking is poor but he can get away with that, same with penalties really. We don't really concede a * load of penalties. But you keep slagging him off if it makes you happy:50:

You have an unnatural hatred of Boyata. He's better than you give him credit for. But then again you know * all about defenders if you think Efe's only weakness is his concentration.

If he's fit he'll play on Wednesday De Vries. There's a slight chance but only slight.

I'd rather put him right in ahead of Gordon on Wednesday.

I'll be a nervous wreck if Gordon starts. :54:

It's be such a boost to the back four if they heard De Vries is starting behind them, it's unlikely though.

If you think Boyata is decent in any way shape or form then you know eff all.

Everything I've said about Boyata in what he's poor at is true.

Efe's heading is nowhere near as bad as is made out and is actually more often than not decent, you should watch the last 20 mins of the game against Ajax last year in the 2-2 game where we were down to 10 men and under the cosh to refresh your short memory, was heading clear near everything that came into the box that night. Then there's his passing which is 100x better, better composure, better positioning, better reading, more talent on the ball, more pace. Far better than Dudrick. Anyway, I'm done with this now. If you don't see that there's nothing more to be said.

Think this is all that can be said at this point to be honest. It's like arguing with a 12 year old...

What kind of wee sad act weasel goes around constantly calling one of our player's Dudrick and scanning video's for a no playing 70 yard cross ball that was on at 37:11. *:52::52::52:

Somebody get the * wipe to stick up the Efe montage..

I would not expect him to even make the bench for Wednesday, he said himself that he will not be in full training with squad until Thursday.
So Gordon will start and Fasan will be on the bench.
Would not be at all surprised if he starts in Israel (unless Gordon plays an absolute blinder with some excellent saves to keep a clean sheet - then it would tough to drop him for return)
