I fail to comprehend its a team game and that for some reason the entire team is equipollently respinsible for a poor defense.

Unfortunately Oisin I just did conclude that he was inconsistent and I never even stated he was inconsistently erratic… :smiley-laughing002: Ill ask again, if you can find me where I stated that he was inconsistently erratic by the way. And the rest of my requests in my previous posts - which are impossible because I have never claimed in the first place. Chop chop mate :50:

BRENDAN RODGERS paid new Celtic keeper Dorus de Vries the highest possible compliment when he said losing him and Luis Suarez were his biggest transfer disappointments as a boss.

The Hoops gaffer is thrilled to be reunited with the Dutchman after buying him from Nottingham Forest for a modest six-figure sum on a two-year contract.

And the way Rodgers spoke about de Vries last night in the aftermath of a 2-0 defeat to Inter Milan in Limerick in the International Champions Cup sounded ominous for current Celts No1 Craig Gordon.

Make no mistake the veteran 35-year-old — recovering from a minor ankle knock but not yet ruled out of the midweek Champions League play-off first leg against Hapoel Be’er Sheva — is a serious threat to the Scotland star.

Rodgers said: “For me I need to have, and how we work, a goalkeeper that means when we have possession we have 11 players — that he can distribute the ball and pass it. Dorus is as good as I’ve seen in that in all my travels.

“I’ve been really, really disappointed twice in my career when I’ve lost players — one was Luis Suarez at Liverpool and the first one was Dorus de Vries at Swansea.

“That’s because he was such a key part of how I worked there.

‘He’s a real fit guy, he’s 35 but look at guys like Van der Saar who played right through till 40 and has some of his best years in that final part of their career.

“Dorus I know well enough to know he looks after his body and will come in and get how I work.

“He’s been nursing a slight knock so we’re just assessing that. He’s with the medical team and I expect him to join the goalkeepers tomorrow and see his availability from then.”

Rodgers was thrilled with the performances from his fringe players against Inter including several academy graduates.

He added: “I was really pleased with the way we played against a top side with real good quality.”

You may certainly utilize that word, utilize it sapiently. Utilize it when the time is right, it is your responsibility to ken when it is a felicitous time to utilize such a word. I have great faith in you though.

Is he inconsistent though? From reading Wikipedia the only big mistake I can see he made was rejecting a new offer from Swansea and signing for Wolves where he became second choice to Hennessey.

He had 25 clean sheets for the Swans in a season and was part of the team that gained promotion to the Premier League.

Now if Nottingham Forrest fans have voted him player of the year that suggests he is consistent when he's actually playing?

By the way… This is brilliant but can you show me where I stated he was inconsistent during his Swans and Forrest years? :smiley-laughing002:

All the best, because you'll need it x

Aye, but hypothetically he could be inconsistent this season, due to displaying inconsistency ten years ago in a pish team :smiley-laughing002:

Mind you this whole transfer reminds me of the Danny Fox saga when Toby Mowbray called him one of his favourite left backs

Never said he couldn't, but logistically it's unlikely :50:
