too many to list of present and past.
With Manchester united,Arsenal and Milan set to start a £12m+ bidding war for Boruc..
and Man city about to also trigger a transfer frenzy for £12m+ rated mcgeady..

im obviously a little bit anxious about such losses but with £24m+ coming in added to the already 'promised' transfer kitty will this be a master stroke if such funds are spent wisely?

We'll we won't find another keeper like Boruc or another mcgeady.. even if we have all the cash in the world.

Can't see Mcgeady going for another year at least, however Boruc will go in the summer I predict. Think it would be the right time to up his career and for us to cash in.

We'd be better off keeping players of that calibre and trying to bring in quality players around them. Boruc & McGeady have many seasons left in them, they'd help us earn that sort of money in 2 good seasons. I dont see any good in selling them unless there is a younger and better boruc and mcgeady ready to step up, there isnt though

I doubt we'll have a keeper as good as Boruc for another 20 years should he leave, he is genuine world class.

McGeady even though i'm his biggest fan is still developing and Parkhead is the best place for him to do that. He's contracted to 2011 and i reckon he will go eventually but after he's given us a good few years service and a hefty transfer return!

Even if we did get that kind of money, there is no way the club would re-invest it back into the side rite away. They would carry on the way they are with cheap hit & miss signings.

i wouldnt sell as McGeady's price can only rise, and we cant get better than Artur in goal

    Absolutely not. :38:

Possibly the best keeper in the world and one of the most naturally gifted young players I've ever seen with his whole career ahead of him. You cant replace that with any amount of millions.

Reid has already said we dont need to sell and there will be funds there to strengthen in the summer. I believe we have a genuine chance to create a special team if we sign one or two more key players and can genuinely become a european force, but not if we start selling when we dont have to.

100% agree mate, although the decisions lie with the players themselves. We don't need to sell and both are on long-term contracts so £12 mil would get laughed at. If it was down to me i'd knock back £20, £25 mil for each of them, that's if they want to stay. I have every faith that McGeady will want to stay for at least a couple of years, but Boruc i think will be away in the summer unfortunately. But we wouldn't need to accept anything less that £15 mil

McGeady has said he wont leave untill after he's 26 as long as his career is progressing, which it is. so im not worried

Artur however is a self proclaimed mercenary for silverwear. If a ritcher more successful club puts a bid in Artur will leave.
The big man did us proud and showed his love for us when he signed a deal guaranteeing us a transfer fee and for that we should be gratefull:50:

i dont think aidan will be going anywhere, you can see how much he enjoys playing for the hoops. boruc is a top keeper and the best we've had in ages ( sorry rab douglas ) but if he wants to leave this summer then £10 million is good business, although i'd like to see as little disruption to the team as possible

Hope you're right about Aiden mate, but it may depend on who is advising him (Petrov and Maloney).

Think you're bang on about Artur. If a big club, and i mean Man Utd, Mian, Barca etc come in for him then we take the 12m and bring in a new keeper and 2 other players straight into the 1st team. Unfortunately i don't see him being here next season but goodluck to him, he did not need to sign that new deal and i think we should all be thankfull that he did.

no way will mcgeady go he loves celtic and he knows hes still learning,12million no way mcgeady worth more than that to us we could go out and spend that on one player and it wouldn replace what mcgeady is givin us.
boruc will be hard replaced but defo he will leave next year and we would have to get at least 12 million for him but would need to spend alot of that on a new keeper to get someone of boruc standards

what the * the point in having lennoxtown and the academy to nurture our future talent to sell on,i think its inevitable that boruc will go at somepoint and yes we could find another but mcgeadys a different proposition,
mcgeady has come up thru the ranks to show tremendous flair we shouldnt even be thinking about letting him go,we are not a selling club and unless some tottally stupid transfer price came in(12 mill is nothing for a player like him) then celtic should keep him,ps rooney wasnt half the player mcgeady is when he moved to old trafford ,great potential and has developed and he cost man u 27 million ffs,we were told our academy and lennoxtown would help us produce world class players and keep transfer costs down
so no * sale typed very aggressively into my keyboard soz
