    If we r going for a keeper at that age, then Id rather we just took Holy Goalie back FFS. Boruc and Fraser Forster were 24/25 when they came.
    That's the age we should be looking at to replace Gordon.

    I don't see why we are replacing an aging goalkeeper with an even older goalkeeper who is at the average age of retirement.

    With more time we would have, but im glad Brendans not gunna settle with Gordon this season, it shows alot of promise to us fans that Brendan wants to give us the best chance possible in europe this season. And a new keeper in priority, not for the future but for right now. Guys got it sussed man Class act!!

    Agree that I would rather a younger more long term solution. But as below, I trust Rodgers and reasonably happy with this transfer. I think it must be short term (year or two) and happy with that if it means we bring in a 22/23 year old next summer and train him in to the club for a year while de vries hangs up the gloves, perhaps.

    Overll, happy and content but noting that this won't be long term solution.

    I reckon he will be a stop gap. Rodgers obviously doesn't think Craig Gordon is good enough with his feet or coming out to sweep which is needed with his philosophy, whereas this guy he knows he can trust. Tried to take him to Liverpool by the sound of it as well. Good signing for a year or 2 and get the scouts out looking for a younger guy with potential

    supposed to be very comfortable playing out from the back with both feet and good goalie to boot, just the pressure Gordon needs to up his game .

    De Vries I think is bit of two things for Brendan. Experienced and trusted goalkeeper and a viable option to Gordon.

    I think this signing is borne of necessity with Bailly currently sidelined, but it serves a purpose also for Brendan, that De Vries could possibly be his No.1 pick for the gloves in the future.

    I don't know. Don't quote me on it.
