Yip, I fancy us but just canny deal with these qualifiers, am a nervous wreck for the whole month. Thought they had a couple of quick dangerous players. All it takes is O'connel to dive in too high up the park or Efe to Efe it and its game over.

Will be on holiday for this one but made sure there was an Irish bar near by to watch it in, Celtic tops packed :celt_2:

I think it's normal to be nervous. The longer we're out of the CL the bigger the games become. It's incredible pressure. No denying they could cause an upset so we'll have to respect them. They won't Amtrack our defence but they will get chances. I believe we are the better team though and will win the game whether they score or not.

Hope you have a great holiday Bi-Winning.

Im not too worried about it but it is mental to be going into such a big game with probably our first 4 choice centre halves missing.

but honestly Ambrose O'Connell and Ajer are probably better than their 3 best centre halves so we should still be ok

A one legged Toure would be better than Efe ffs

With our sonic wave attacks from the crowd the ball will be repelled from anywhere near efe or the net. We'll be safe.

Hopefully there's a late surge in ticket sales, still lots of availability all over the ground, would make a massive difference if +50k turn up to put the pressure on Astana.

    Absolute pish.

He defended very well against Luis Suarez yesterday barring the impossible nutmeg Suarez managed for their third goal, he'll be able to deal with these Kazakhs no problem.

    ------------------------Gordon--------------------------

    -------Lustig-----------Ambrose-------O'Connell-------

    ---Roberts--------Bitton------Brown-------Tierney-----

    -------------------------Rogic----------------------------

    -----------------Griffiths-----Dembele------------------

I was extremely reluctant to put in Dembele, heck I'd maybe even give Ciftci a game alongside Griffiths instead * knows as he's look decent enough pre season.

But surely now in front of a packed Celtic Park under the floodlights it's just got to come together for him now?

    Absolute pish? Seriously?

No ones saying he's not a good defender when he concentrates, but he's highly mistake prone when under pressure which means ANY team can score against us. See Lincoln Red Imps :smiley-laughing002:

I mean ffs he scored a howler of an og yesterday and you're saying it's 'absolute pish' that he gives them a great opportunity to put on past is on Wednesday

How many own goals has he scored against us? Think that was his 2nd, it's not a common thing from him so no point getting all torn up about it.

No blunders and errors aren't at all a common thing with Ambrose.
Honestly cant believe you're defending this guy.

I'm absolutely fine with Efe in defence in the current situation, When Erik, Lustig, Kolo Toure are all fit he won't be in the side. That's not even including Simunovic as well but I'm yet to be convinced by him so need to see him when he gets back, O'Connell has done well too tbf. He's definitely above Boyata for me without question when both are fit.

Brendan is defending him as well so I'm in good company:bbpd:.

Overall he played well against Barca yesterday, was unlucky in what was only his 2nd own goal for us in the 4 years he's been here and for the third goal was extremely unlucky in that Suarez somehow managed to squeeze that ball through his legs for the cross even though it looked like Efe had them shut tight.

He'll be fine on Wed mark my words.

TBF efe was very good yesterday....only the own goal killed it

He needs praise as well....that was barca yesterday and he did well considering the * he gets...he should get praise as much as the hate

Obviously Brendan isn't going to say he's *, if you really think he's going to publicly say one of our players is pish then you're an idiot.
He always plays generally well overall, until he makes a terrible error which costs us a goal or, on many occasions, a game.

That can't be said for a lot of defenders, trust me like for example Boyata who makes constant mistakes every touch of the ball he near enough makes.

Anyway, I realise most managers don't slate their own players in public but he definitely over defended him in the sense you can see he's being genuine in what he's saying about Efe. This isn't just one sentence brushing off a performance.

Efe is a decent squad player when everyone is fit no doubt about it for me.
