They looked better than I thought.

This game is far from over. I'd happily take a 1-0.

Would be mental to go 3 at the back against that mob, they ripped us at times down the wings. Imagine the space they would get.

That guy up against Tierney looked decent. Twusami ? Need to watch them on the counter attack, looked like that's what they set up for yesterday until we let them get a hold on the game.

I would go the same formation with O'Connell and Toure in defence, proving big Erik is still out. Forrest on the left instead of Armstrong. Could see the trouble he caused when he actually ran at them. Let him and Roberts go at the full backs from the off.

Aye I'm thinking the 433 might be the way to go. Front three of Forrest, Thumb and Roberts. Midfield with Brown, Armstrong and Bitton. Solid enough but a lot of pace to cause these * some problems. I think Bitton needs to start, you could see the solidity and composure he brought to the team when he came on yesterday. I think Kolo will be a real asset as well, bring a cool head to the back four and some hard tackles on the likes of twumasi.

Tie certainly isn't over. Both goals came from defensive mistakes and they had better scoring opportunities overall, so won't come here feeling it's beyond them. Our defensive structure needs to improve with set pieces and the way well organised teams get through our midfield and flanks - so nothing new there. However Toure, if he's fit, must now be a definite for next week, which will strengthen that area.

Overall, given the changes we were forced to make, a great result, but 2 years ago we got a 1-1 away at Maribor and look what happened. Can see next Wed being squeaky * time....again.

Hopefully there as poor as our usual away form. Couple early goals and lock it down and stroll to victory. Otherwise I'll be a nervous wreck for 90 minutes.

    Gordon
    Janko Lustig Toure Tierney
    Brown Bitton
    McGregor
    Roberts Dembele Forrest

That's the team I want to say.. But Griffiths has to start and he's much better in a front two imo. Any suggestions? :smiley-laughing002:

Maybe 4312 with Forrest dropping out for Leigh

Hi guys dunno if this is the right section but here goes:

Just booked my tickets online there but chose the Ticketfast print option instead of the delivery option, like a diddy! Seeing as I don't have a printer in house. Is there a way of amending this? I have emailed to say can I pay the difference and change, but no doubt will get a reply ages from now. Tried phoning (7 times) but getting the "all our agents are busy, please call back later". So if anyone has any advice on this, because of its a case of not being able to change, then I'd rather know right away so I can get it printed well in advance.
    Cheers

Hopefully a full house for this game, get that atmosphere going and put pressure on the ref every time Patrick Roberts gets booted :50:

I would make 3 changes going on yesterdays performance, toure in for ambrose, sviatchenko in for o'connell if fit and Bitton in for Dembele. Go 4-3-3.

I hope we get a big crowd for this. In games like this against a team that doesn't travel well a really hostile Celtic Park makes a huge difference.

1-1 is no bad result at all but i still can't help but worry. There was hardly any improvement on recent away games in Europe; still too open, still too naive, still too many slack passes, still giving cheap goals away. Away games are hard enough without giving teams a helping hand. That said i think we will get through and with a bit of tinkering and 2/3 QUALITY signings we would have a good chance of making the group stages. And what was up with that ref? Clear pen not given, that big no. 77 of theirs kicking Roberts to bits and no card and more. Terrible.

Wasn't sure what to expect from them. Have to say I wasn't overly impressed with them. Bit of pace in the wide areas gave us problems early doors, however we managed to adjust and deal pretty comfortably with it. Big bruiser guy up front held the ball up well enough, didn't look he would be a goal threat. Defensively they couldn't handle Roberts unless it was in gangs, while it solves one problem it give you others. Set-pieces were a danger and we need to work on it before the 2nd leg.

Biggest surprise for me was Ibrahimi being on the bench. He gave us a hard time of it with Maribor and is very capable of causing us problems.

Obviously we still have to be a bit cautious and weary in the 2nd leg. I feel pretty positive ahead of the return, not Lincoln level but confident.

Is Sviatchenko going to be fit for this game?
